    His shoulders went too which didn't help. Read a story on him years later and he never really saw himself in the game long term as he always wanted to be a copper. So desire may have been an issue too. What a talent though. He could really go.

    Very good call. Have heard his story. Another of that era was a young fullback by the name of Starling. Absolutely blitzed them early on, then contracted an illness which developed into a staph infection of sorts. Bit hazy on that one, but regardless he was never the same after that.

    A lot of that can be put down to league's access to poker machines via their leagues clubs. This guaranteed revenue stream mean they didn't have to work hard on crowds to survive. Melbourne, I dont believe, had the same fallback. There are probably some major cultural differences that...

    Jake made 64 tackles and I lost count of how many of them were covering half breaks the knights made through our middle. If he didn't play the score wouldve been scary. Guerra and cordner were good and the rest ....well if you haven't got anything nice to say....
