Garth Brennan and Titans part ways, Holbrook to take over in 2020

Reports are Justin Holbrook will get the nod. The problem is Holbrook is some what untried despite coaching in Superleague which brings them into Garth Brennan type territory again . For all the knocks on Anthony Griffin you can atleast say that he had a respectable NRL record to draw on. I'm...

Garth Brennan and Titans part ways, Holbrook to take over in 2020

You may think he's smart passing it up, but the flip side of the coin is maybe he is being too picky by shunning the opportunity. Look in a perfect world he would have gotten the Broncos job but not everything in Rugby League should be given on a silver platter and Walters is getting on. If the...

Garth Brennan and Titans part ways, Holbrook to take over in 2020

The problem for any new coach is Garth Brennan has locked in some unwanted contracts from players who haven't performed or don't want to be there. A new coach may have to make do with what they have as the money conscience Titans may not be happy throwing money away on buyouts. The Shannon Boyd...

Garth Brennan and Titans part ways, Holbrook to take over in 2020

Kevin Walters has now publicly ruled out taking the job. https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/national/titans-coach-garth-brennan-set-to-be-sacked-effective-immediately/news-story/9dbcb9f8e66d47886edc06bdce2331c9

    Dce

Nobody on this thread has flat out said it but if anyone is blaming Cherry-Evans for not taking a field goal at the end of the game then forget it. Moses Mbye screwed up the last play trying to milk a penalty and whining to the ref instead of getting a quick play the ball away. NSW had time to...

    Rumoured Signings

The Australian is reporting the QRL are considering bringing back Wayne Bennett for the Maroons coaching job because of the potential departure of Kevin Walters. There is a view Walters will likely depart from the job after this series if he secures the Titans coaching position which he is...

    Queensland Maroons 2019

Nope. The mail is Cameron Munster to fullback, Michael Morgan to 5/8, Moses Mbye to centre, and Corey Norman to the bench. Mbye hasn't done much this series but the time he has played has been squat as well no excuses now.

    Rumoured Signings

It won't be happening mid-year. The latest I read it won't happen before the deadline. 2020 is still a possibility though.

    Rumoured Signings

Paul Kent made an interesting comment about Des Hasler. He suggested Hasler is a coach who operates better on less is more. Hasler at the Bulldogs have the latest up to date technology and huge amount staff and Hasler found it too much. Hasler goes to Manly where he doesn't all latest technology...

To be fair that post wasn't really based on sources and was more a post based on opinion. You haven't disproven anything quoting that post.

    Queensland Maroons 2019

Kalyn Ponga sat out the Knights last game with a calf injury but insists he will be right for state of origin. I read an article on the possible replacements (Michael Morgan, Cameron Munster, Darius Boyd, Anthony Milford, Moses Mbye, Alexander Brimson) and Corey Thompson's name came up. Wow...

    State of Origin Perth 2019

State of origin in Perth is a great concept. Hope they bring it there again every few years like they do with Melbourne in the future.

    Queensland Maroons 2019

Gus Gould was asked about the Queensland team on the podcast and he noted Joe Ofahengaue will come back in the side. He stated though he thought the changes had to be in attitude not the make up of the team. Problem for Queensland is the biggest dilemma is in the forwards and making changes with...

    Dave Taylor

Neil Henry application for the Titans job was he had a plan and it was to build the team around Dave Taylor. It may seem funny now, but Taylor had the talent to be built around but lacked the desire to be a leader on the team. He had the perfect opportunity when he went to the Titans to be the...

    Where next for Origin?

If NRL wants expansion it has to share its biggest Rugby League event with other states other then QLD and NSW. State of Origin series generates the NRL 30 million reducing it to one game won't happen there would be a huge backlash from fans, sponsors, and television if it was ever attempted.

    Where next for Origin?

A big NO from me taking it overseas. NRL needs to concentrate building up its support in Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne rather then Hong Kong, Singapore, and London.

    Queensland Maroons 2019

It was reported in the Australian that Tim Glasby and Christian Welch are favorites to replace Joe Ofahengaue and potentially Jai Arrow. I would assume both would go to the bench and Dylan Napa elevated to the starting line up as Prop. Jarrod Wallace is still in the mix though and is a close...

    Rumoured Signings

Not exactly. So the story goes is that Garth Brennan had a two year contact with a clause that he was guaranteed a third year if they made the finals in their second year. The third year would otherwise be the clubs option. When Mal Meninga was brought on board Brennan complained to the club...

    Rumoured Signings

It's been reported that if the Titans do punt Garth Brennan that Kevin Walters and Trent Barrett will be in the frame of mind for the replacement. I'm surprised that Barrett would be even considered. The Titans seem to me are running out of patience and not looking to put someone on who has...

    Ashley Taylor

This comment is misleading because it kind of infers the Broncos let him go because he was not up to scratch. Broncos let him got because they had Ben Hunt who they were committed too and couldn't give Ash Taylor a crack in first grade. Hunt form later on became patchy and received a massive...
