    I heard it on Triple M yesterday as well, from Brent Read. He suggested we were still favourites. From what I know from family here - he doesn’t want to leave, just wants to know his worth. It’s a big contract for him.

    I think it probably came from a comment the other night suggesting Jake Clifford was a better half than Pearce which is just absurd. Then I saw that tweet - just thought it’s appropriate for this post that we are a much better team with him than without.

    We just don’t have the depth of the top 6 teams to cover injuries. That’s where we fall down. Where is our Hynes to cover when Ponga is injured? That’s right - we have Tex Hoy.

    But we aren’t - are we? We don’t have the depth of the teams running 5th or 6th. We always have injuries - we can’t avoid that. Whilst ever we need to play guys like Hoy or Toa on a regular basis, we aren’t keeping up with the top 6.

    Hopefully (from next week) the spine gets a few weeks to play together, find their groove, develop their game and get some wins and confidence leading into the finals. I know it’s been ugly, but given we are down to 15 and it was only a 4 day gap between games, they have gone alright.
