    Rumours and Stuff

Samrani is going good, shows promise......but gee I recall a few writing him off, after the first trial match, because a bad defensively decision lead to a try.... Moral of the story, give rookies time.....pretty difficult to rate a rookie until they have had a few nrl preseasons, and/or 50 or...

Rd11: 6pm Parra v Knights GAME DAY THREAD in Newcastle 16/5/25

I think some focus to much on attack when rating a player especially with our forwards on why they should/should not be picked! I suspect Ryles has a greater focus on defence with our forwards! Look at Hopgood yes his attack isn't like it was 2022, it has dropped off a bit ( but not terrible...

Rd11: 6pm Parra v Knights GAME DAY THREAD in Newcastle 16/5/25

No miss tackles, looked to have worked hard in defence. He did fine. Not sure what you expect from a rookie prop with limited minutes in their first game.

Rd11: 6pm Parra v Knights GAME DAY THREAD in Newcastle 16/5/25

When was the last time our back 3 made 569 m. That pretty good! Add our centres and our backline made 895 m, that's impressive.

Rd11: 6pm Parra v Knights GAME DAY THREAD in Newcastle 16/5/25

I get Will made few errors, but he was solid defensively. And his attack was elite level for a centre. Thought it was awesome. 14 runs 182 m, 59 PC, 9 TB, 2 TA, 2 LBA, 1 LB. Defence 1 miss. He aren't getting dropped any time soon with that attack.

Rd11: 6pm Parra v Knights GAME DAY THREAD in Newcastle 16/5/25

It was his best game for us. We are now using him more in attack. Developing nice! 14 runs, 122 m, 1 TB, 3 offloads. Defence 97%, 36 from 37. 1 miss. 1 error. good effort by the rookie

Think he may have played a couple of games in Sydney Shield for Cabramatta earlier this year, before they left the comp.

Now that's a better target than Fifita. Exactly what we need! Obviously wouId be expensive but "low risk" playing wise. Would make a massive difference to our side (playing ability plus leadership). I reckon as he also has "leadership" qualities, you can justify a big offer.

Manu and Hoppa were Kearney recruits. Yes other 4 were Ricky's recruits but 2 were terrible with one not even coming. Interestingly, Gower and BA's other 2014 recruit Issac De Gois are still at the club...

NRL 360 + other footy shows

Nope....only making the point BA did a good job here, plenty want to claim he couldn't coach and his time was a shit show....it wasn't ....but it was time for a change... Was the first on the Ryles train, while others were arguing about other options....

NRL 360 + other footy shows

3 players with only 62 nrl between them....So you saying BA did a good job in developing talent? 2 forwards with zero NRL experience and turned Norman into an NRL quality half who only had played 29 games there.....

Don't get why if Anderson gets that considerations. Why doesn't BA? Anderson was working with a much better base than what BA had. Look at squads (another post). But it's also reflected in their win rate, previous 3 year (before DA) which is much better then eels. Eels were in rabble when BA...

Madness, the kid is still 19 (20 in July). But has already played 42 NSW and 3 NRL games. He is 4th in NSW cup for TB.

    Eels in the media

Interestingly it seems Raiders under Ricky aren't that great at staying at the top end of the table. Between 2015 and 2022, they have finished 10th, 2nd, 10th, 10th, 4th, 5th, 10th, 8th. They have never been able to sustain a consistent finish towards the top of the table. Only finishing top...
