    Eels in the media

Are the Raiders/Ricky that good at identifying players....... Last 4 years Canberra have finished 10th, 8th, 8th and 9th. Eels have finished 6th, 4th, 10th and 15th. Maybe the Raiders after 4 pretty average seasons, just had some decent cap space to make some quality signings (including...

    TLT - Rnd 11 vs Knights - Friday night @ 6pm

Interestingly Mataele marked Russell at centre in the 2018 Matt's Gf https://www.nswrl.com.au/draw/harold-matthews-cup/2018/grand-final/sea-eagles-v-eels/ And was a Rhino junior. https://18thman.com/players/toni-mataele/

    TLT - Rnd 11 vs Knights - Friday night @ 6pm

Parra junior (happy to be corrected), recruited by Manly to play Matt's (played centre), came back to Parra. Recruited by Knights and played NSW cup for them at 19 or so. Then ended up back with us around 2022 I think. Was an edge but now a middle. Did have some injury issues over last few years.

Williams might start on the edge. But I agree I doubt he plays more then 20 there.

NRL 360 + other footy shows

BA made the finals 4 years in a row (top 4 twice). That's not luck. The only luck he had, was the lack of injuries going into the 2022 finals. 2020, we lose our hookers. 2021, we lose 3 starting backs (Fergo, Sivo, Jennings). While 2022 was fairly injury free.

NRL 360 + other footy shows

Sounds like the same that happened to BA during late 2015/2016, all the leaking to the media to stuff the side/club over....that then lead to the salary cap crap.....and sacking of the head office/board..... Credit to BA for the 2016-2018 period for sticking around and getting the eels back on...

NRL 360 + other footy shows

Did Anderson get lucky? I recall in 2009 Jarryd Hayne won the Dally m Medal. You could argue our 2009 performance was as much to do with Hayne being fit and at his peak outside of 2014. Then anything to do with coaching. We also had some junior talent in the side, which all had good seasons.

NRL 360 + other footy shows

Only twice out of 11 years, did BA do worse than Anderson's 2010 season.... While BA had a better season after making a GF then Anderson did.

Knock-on Effect NSW Cup - Eels Team

Yes defence stats not great, but I don't look to much into them in NSW cup especially for edge players, unless they are really bad. Or the effort is bad (which generally aren't reflected in stats). Lots of changes in NSW cup, which can affect edge defence/structure. Actually watching the...

    Rd10: 750pm Parra v Dolphins GAME DAY THREAD @ Commbank 8/5/25

Yes he dropped couple but gee he took some tough ones......but that does not mean he "is not very good"....... 9 game rookie will always have some errors / take wrong options

    Rd10: 750pm Parra v Dolphins GAME DAY THREAD @ Commbank 8/5/25

We looked fairly flat at times, line speed was poor at times. we had enough opportunities, made 7 LB, not sure we made that many in a while. But it's offset by 10 errors. thought the rookies did good, but Smith is playing to many minutes. Drown should have kicked for JAC in our second last...

    Rd10: 750pm Parra v Dolphins GAME DAY THREAD @ Commbank 8/5/25

Plenty to discuss, but how in the hell did the dolphins player who tackled Iongi high (second half) not go for 10? That's ridiculous, it's been a binning last few weeks!!!
