    Was talking about Google Trends and last weekend showed Dolphins ahead of Lions for general interest in QLD on Google Trends. If you want to use membership numbers as a measuring stick I'm guessing it means the Giants and Eels are on par with one another when it comes to supporter base size?

    Dolphins are already ahead of the Lions in terms of general interest in QLD too, despite the Lions winning a premiership while the Dolphins have yet to play finals. Lions have the Titans covered for general interest in QLD though so I guess that's something for them to hang their hat on.

    There is a thread on the big footy forum with the title "AFL overtaking NRL in QLD" so you'd think people in QLD would be able to name and recognise Lions players and don't get me started on their CEO calling QLD an AFL state.

    Lions won a premiership last year but how many Lions players can your average Queenslander name? Compare the Lions captain to Reece Walsh in terms of general interest in Queensland on Google Trends over the past five years, and it's a 90/10 ratio in favour of Reece Walsh.

    Google Trends for 2025 shows an 80/20 split between NRL/AFL in NSW would love to see an apples v apples comparison of TV ratings.
