    wow some nrl lovers are so narrow minded. do you not realise how big the soccer WC up. it will bring tonnes of revenue, tourism etc. all this talk of how it is trying to "kill off" nrl and afl is a joke. its postponing for what, 8 weeks, which is nothing compared to the importance and fame...

    exactly, its a one off thing that probably won't happen again for a looooong time, so i think if we have the chance to have it in Australia, we shuld do all we can to get it here, even if it means sacrificing rugby league for what, 8 weeks.

    the WC will be the largest sporting event to be held in Australia, bar the 2000 Olympics. it will be massive revenue, tourism, merchandise etc. nrl shuld shut up and go with it, jeeze i wuld even STOP league for those 8 weeks while the WC is being played to see all those million dollar...
