Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

I don't want Luai to come in 2024 for a dif reason. What Penrith is doing right now is unfathomable. They're in the drivers seat to win 4 premiership in a row. This is the stuff of legacy, where our grandkids will be asking us about how good this team truly was. Yeah, right now it's smug and...

Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

Please remind me... At what point last year, or any of the last 13 years, did we fire the entire board, replace the CEO and sign a triple premiership winning half still in his prime? I understand you're talking about next year. It's like we've known we have cancer for over half a decade and...

Match Discussion: Round 14 vs Canberra @ Campbelltown Sports Stadium, Leumeah / Dharawal

I turned it off with 15 minutes to go figuring the final scoreline wouldn't reflect how the boys played. Because I though they played well again. The attack still needs improvement. But the main thing is consistent effort for now. That was there. Bloody final scoreline threw me for 6 though.

Match Discussion: Round 12 vs North Qld @ Leichhardt Oval, Lilyfield / Wanngal

Yeah.... Ummm.... Alright... Here goes. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to Sheens, Marshall and Farah. I'm sorry to the players. I'm sorry to the club. Over the last month something has been happening. And no I won't be negative and just blame Douehi. The effort from the team has been tremendous. The...

Match Discussion: Round 11 vs Souths @ Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park / Wanngal

Scoreline flattered Souths. First 20 minutes we played league at a top 4 team level. Would have said 70 minutes, but top level teams also have offense. We're still completely bereft of ideas in attack. Fix that, maintain the defence and we're good.

Match Discussion: Round 10 vs St Geo Illa @ Suncorp Stadium, Milton / Yuggera-Turrbal

Did we break a curse? 99 times our of 100 we lose the last 2 games with those try scoring opportunities to the Panthers and Dragons. Especially when it's on the back of an impromptu bad play by the other team that lucks out, like Hunt did with that leg kick out. Is Bula the magic? He has...

Match Discussion: Round 9 vs Penrith @ Carrington Park, Bathurst / Wiradjuri

I feel like I watched a different game to everyone. While I won't deny I had tears in my eyes at the full time siren and was so impressed with the defensive effort we displayed, our attack in their 20 was still terribly uncoordinated by Brooks and without the rain helping the ball slip out twice...

Match Discussion: Round 6 vs Parramatta @ Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park

Then what? The club acts like the team that won the game is the answer to our woes, the road to improvement has begun and everything is a-ok again. Until we lost 5,10,15 more in a row. We have won less games over the last 11 years (37%) than teams have won the comp (37.5%). Hell, 70% of teams...

Match Discussion: Round 6 vs Parramatta @ Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park

I wouldn't even bet a dollar on it, but I hope we don't win. We saw what happened last year with the win. The foot on the throat got released enough to see out the season. This club seems like only a massive implosion will cause a change for the better and I don't want a pressure valve opened.

How much of this are we prepared to take?

Man, I checked out the board the other day to see who was on it. How the f did the Burgess guy get on it? When I met him 20 years ago he seemed like a geriatric rocknroller clinging to any type of notoriety he could muster. I remember he introduced himself as saying he played in masters...

Match Discussion: Round 5 vs Brisbane @ Suncorp Stadium, Milton

"what can Sheens say to them at half time" That's easy.... "Chin up boys. Some of you are getting paid more than they are. Aint that a f#$kn hoot'

Match Discussion: Round 4 vs Melbourne @ AAMI Park, Melbourne

I don't know, eh. I walked away from that game feeling optimistic as there's only really 1 thing wrong with the team..... EVERYTHING!

Match Discussion: Round 4 vs Melbourne @ AAMI Park, Melbourne

Come on. we know how this works with Sheens. Well play like 50 minutes as this. And then the line up will change to something like 1. Staines 2. Laurie 3. Naden 4. Wakeham 5. Yupou 6. Douehi 7. Korisau 8. Klemmer 9. Brooks 10. Twal 11. Kepoa 12. Papali 13. Bateman

Match Discussion: Round 2 vs Newcastle @ Leichhardt Oval, Lilyfield

I've never seen a game handed to a team on a silver platter like that before. It was probably the easiest game to win we will ever get... The NRL really needs to implement relegation. We look worse than what people expected from the Dolphins.

Match Discussion: Round 2 vs Newcastle @ Leichhardt Oval, Lilyfield

If this game keeps going the way it is this will be the game that convinces anyone who doubted it that we will be wooden spooners again this year.

Match Discussion: Round 1 vs Gold Coast @ Leichhardt Oval, Lilyfield

I don't see any issues with our 2-5. Every ball they got in that game was near to with a flat line. Naden actually did a great job with what he was given. Staines was given the ball 2 inches from touch nearly every time and had to run back in to avoid being taken into touch. Nofo tried to spark...

Match Discussion: Round 1 vs Gold Coast @ Leichhardt Oval, Lilyfield

Just finished watching the game... Didn't make a lot of sense compared to what we saw against the Raiders last week. Last week the passes were on the chest and to players running onto the ball. Last week the line had starch. Last week there was creativity in the attacking plays. Today, I...

Most and Least Successful Wests Players

Just for fun. Understand there's a hell of a lot more statistics that could be analysed, especially for certain positions. Decided to crunch some numbers to determine who could be classed as the most and least consistently successful players at Wests Tigers, then compared to to our likely most...

    Season 2023

2023 Stat: Imagine someone having a beer with Benji at a pub and saying '2005 sounds like it was great. But I wasn't alive then'... That can start to happen this year if we don't won't it in 2023.
