Brisbane Broncos withdraw their offer to sign Melbourne Storm star Greg inglis

I also am assuming that we are going to go hard after him now. Surely we are in a position to given our well documented cash left over and the new coach and his assistant?

Brian Smith for NSW top job

Is anyone else getting a bit miffed about the constant remarks at the moment from both Brian Smith and media commentators that this Roosters side is his best team yet?! Our 2001 side was unbelievable, breaking every record around, and if the coach hadn't been sending so many goddamn text...

Week 2 - Finals footy chat and game discussion

the Tigers have now won a couple of key game with a talented opposition goalkicker missing a pretty easy penalty at the death that would have forced extra time. Arsey bastards.

Eels have Wright role for Graham

PARRAMATTA are favoured to pick up Roosters flyer Phil Graham after losing gun centre Jono Wright to the Bulldogs. guess which part of that first line of the article is gilding the lily somewhat...?

    Chooseday Night Footy on Fox

Just watching Caylo ice the game with the final try of the match. Nearly brought a tear to my eye to think that this was his first (possibly 2nd) season and we just watched him play his final NRL match. The youth and joy on his young face as well as his speed was brilliant to see. Also amazing...

    reni maitua for 2 years

Any talk of this being a risky move have absolutely no idea. This is a completely risk FREE move. Its all upside for Parra. They come cheaply, we have experienced forwards leaving the club regardless, and we have a solid pack of forwards without them, so if they perform in training or in the...

    The end for Captain Caylo

Was Jason Smith and Jim Dymock who were the obvious choices and turned it down. Dean Pay was the previous captain and mentored Cayless through as a young prop. I remember being shocked and disappointed that we had 2 senior players in that position refusing such a role, but in the main, we've...

    reni maitua for 2 years

But my 2c worth is that Shack would not be the one to miss out if he gets a full pre-season in and returns successfully from injury. Webb will be a serious work in progress and Maitua doesn't get to play until May, at which time he will still be rusty after 2 seasons out of the game.

    reni maitua for 2 years

rarely works as seamlessly as that. Players, especially forwards, get injured and suspended, so whilst its nice to think of what our best 17 is, it really is a generous hypothetical that rarely plays out. I recall us super concerned at the start of this year as to who our best back 5 would be...

Parramatta Eels sign North Queensland Cowboys prop Carl Webb

no doubt its not working out at the Cowboys and they'd be feeling like we have bought a lemon, but that doesn't factor in human nature and the fact that change can often bring out good things in people. He seems to be enthusiastic about working under our training staff to help him resurrect his...

Parramatta Eels sign North Queensland Cowboys prop Carl Webb

way too much negativity here about a bloke who would not have been an expensive purchase, will come down with a massive point to prove and provides some experience and agro coming off the bench. He and the club will know that getting fit is the #1 priority. On current form its obviously a risk...

Eels Media Release - Horo and Grothe Re-sign

this is a very good point. on the one hand i am very impressed with what the club has done with their email marketing since Ossy took over. Much cheaper than sending out old fashioned mail outs by post, quicker and more dynamic information. The problem however, as MITS has identified, is...

Who we need to desperately sign

yeah i understand that, but that's also why i originally mentioned Shackleton, who will be like a new recruit in 2011. He'll make plenty of tackles and hit ups and has plenty of 1st grade experience.

Who we need to desperately sign

I agree with Delboy and would strongly argue that we need only one key signing - an experienced halfback, or at least one that will not take much time to start guiding a side around the park. I reckon we have all of our player losses covered and really just need the remaining bunch to be guided...

Who we need to desperately sign

they certainly have some nice looking signings on paper, although 2 issues come to mind. Firstly, they pride themselves on a "bred not bought" philosophy. Or at least they were throwing that one at rival teams a few years ago. Well, last time I looked, they had nothing to do with the...

You have to lose a grand final to win one

problem with that theory for our dear club is that we tend to follow up a good season with a very poor one the next year, so we never find ourselves in any period of sustained success such that we could put that theory to a test. I am still shaking my head at the predictability of what happened...

    mates already miss mateo

sounds like Parra Guru paid your Warriors side a reasonable compliment there, saying your side was currently good enough for Mateo to struggle to make the top 17. No need to get all narky.
