    2025 Crowd Watch

The Storm will be celebrating grassroots Rugby League this week, which will hopefully ensure Sunday's crowd eclipses 20K. Last two times the Storm ran this event they drew 20,269 against Newcastle (2024) and 20,253 against Cronulla (2023). The fact it is Beanies for Brain Cancer round should...

Victorian rugby league reaches record numbers https://www.melbournestorm.com.au/news/2025/06/23/victorian-rugby-league-reaches-record-numbers/ NRL Victoria has reached a historic milestone, recording more than 6,000 player registrations for the 2025 season — the highest number in the history of...

    2025 Crowd Watch

There is definitely evidence supporting this. Further to what you've outlined, Panthers have had some of their best corporate sales for Thursday's game, with the Cumberland lounge and all corporate boxes sold out and the other main lounge is near capacity. Bulldogs supporter bay has also made...

    2025 Crowd Watch

Dragons v Eels is surprisingly selling quite well at WIN Stadium. The club has already put the back 5 rows on sale in all the grandstands (unless it's a big game, its not uncommon for these not to go on sale) and most of the concourse has been sold out. Grandstand areas don't have a lot of...

    2025 Crowd Watch

Encouraging to be slightly ahead of last year at this point (1.6%), with Roosters starting to find form, Knights beginning to pull together some wins and Bulldogs doing well, there's a real opportunity to record another year of growth.

    2025 Crowd Watch

I think the club has been selling parts of these bays directly through the various services, just based upon how scattered some of the seats are in those bays. Hopefully we are looking at another 20K+

    2025 Crowd Watch

The details for both the Eels deal and the new Dolphins deals are both publicly available. All government sponsorship/event deals are available under FOI if they're not included in respective department reports. The WA deal was still worth 1.5m over 3 years to the Phins. Regardless of whether...

    2025 Crowd Watch

The Dolphins had a 3 year + option agreement with the NRL & WA Government which saw them play 1 game at Optus and 2 at HBF. Their new deal for Darwin is also with the respective Government and the NRL, so for the Phins the two arrangements are very similar. My issue is not that these deals...

I assume the club will take the same approach over the next 3 years with Darwin then.

    2025 Crowd Watch

Not really comparing apples with apples. Wednesday's match was an event game, which was priced and marketed accordingly. Technically the game day actually featured two WA teams playing as well, but we all know that had zero impact on the crowd. Today's game, which my comment was about was...

Why? The Bears didn't play? The result was 100% the outcome of the Dolphins decisions.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I'd argue it was most likely a true statement at the time (2005). The club had less than a quarter of the members it has now and similar to a lot of older clubs, it's supporter base is scattered around the city. I mean Accor is 'closer' to over two thirds of the population in Sydney than...

    2025 Crowd Watch

Roosters have just put bays 201, 207, 208, 221 and 222 on-sale, which is surprising as there are still plenty of Cat 2 seats on sale in the lower bowl. Maybe they're selling through other channels so are confident of a bigger crowd than what Ticketek is showing.

I get that, but they also got paid $500K up front just to move the game and then are charging prices significantly more than what they charge at Suncorp or Kayo.

Perth Officially Confirmed to Join NRL in 2027 or 2028

Not meaning to be pedantic, but the Perth TV audience was actually 190K (https://mumbrella.com.au/nines-state-of-origin-pulling-biggest-tv-audiences-in-a-decade-878483), which is rather incredible considering a fair portion of the 57K there last night were locals.

    2025 Crowd Watch

Round coming up isn't looking amazing outside of the Warriors & Broncos games. Just looking at some of them: Wests Tigers v Raiders - Crowds at Campbelltown this year have been 13K, 12K, 11K and this one may continue that trend with a 10K. Outside of members and the Raiders away bay, there...
