    I think you're missing a pretty important point here - nobody in Tasmania except their spud of a Premier wants the state to spend $2bn on a stadium. He's had to lie, lie and lie again saying it'll cost $350m to even get a medium amount of support for it.

    Athens was outdoor. They ran out of money for the roof on the main pool, only the smaller pool (which was used for things like synchronised swimming, and then for the paraolympics) had a roof.

    Why the f**k should Manly care about it being difficult for away fans to get to? Lets move the Cowboys and Warriors games to Allianz while we're at it, Mt Smart and Townsville are awful to get to on public transport from Bronte.

    Especially when you consider what an absolute gem of a vene that Basin Reserve is for cricket. Throw up some retractable floodlights for limited overs games and build a few cabanas or something for corporate dollars and it's basically perfect.

    It’ll be a very good club ground, looks a bit like Hunter Stadium. And it’ll be big enough for any concerts or events that want to base themselves in Penrith (not throwing shade - anything that can get a bigger crowd is going to want to be in a more central location).
