    18th club, whose next?

It blows my mind that people are advocating for Melb 2 over Perth when traditionally Perth has always had a bigger rugby league base ...

    PNG's back.

If your 100% reliant on government funding to make the model work then your one change of government away from a failed club ...

    18th club, whose next?

If the Perth Bear goes ahead I'd have all home games in Perth regular season. Host an annual Bears/Manly trial at NSO similar to the Charity Shield. Make it an event.

    18th club, whose next?

Similar to the Storm Melb - QLD arrangements which have worked in the past. I doubt they are flying multiple times a week just to make Q-Cup training. At some stage in the week they'd be released to fly up for game day.

    18th club, whose next?

Every NRL club has 30 registered players in their tops squad. Up to 12 of those players each week will become available to play in NSW / QLD Cup. Are clubs going to ignore that opportunity? Players that come from the Perth junior rep pathway as they develop equivalent 17s, 19s reps are going...

Bringing back the Jets and Newton would be like bring back old school Applecross

    18th club, whose next?

It was around, but we had the superior pathway .... let's make that happen again

    18th club, whose next?

Again WA have already had 10,000 players in the 90s when the pathway was there. Shifting ~4,000 to 10,000 participants by investing in pathways is a reasonable uptick in the overall country wide participation rate in the game.

    18th club, whose next?

So QLD was flooded with Vic and SA immigration supporting AFL in the state. Yet the high Kiwi, Polynesian, QLD and NSW immigration we receive here in Perth can't help sustain an NRL team?

    2024 rule change: drop-out and kick-off penalties

I doubt this will change kick offs. Any set that you kick long and it starts in the red zone has such a small percentage of tries conceded or repeat set success for the opposition off the back of it. When you kick off short and fail - all of a sudden the opposition have all their players...

Quite a few have come through the NRLWA Program too but went across to chase the professional dream.

    18th club, whose next?

You do realise there is a big Perth based full time workforce that is servicing the mining industry outside of FIFO.

    18th club, whose next?

So working FIFO and players traveling to PNG to play is fine, but players living in Perth and opposition travelling to Perth is a massive issue ....

    West Coast Pirates Bid News

Wrong assumption as usual. Photo comes directly from The History of the WA Rugby League Page, St George came over in 1965 and played the state team.

Plenty of second and third generation Western Australians in my local first grade side ... but these gents know more apparently.

Born and bred in Perth ....

    18th club, whose next?

Scorchers are massive in Perth for only 2 months of the year. No potential supporter is not getting behind a Rugby League team because of these two summer sports. Plenty of corporate money in Perth, only competing with the two AFL sides for big whale sponsors.
