NRL preseason which means you’ll be hearing this line a lot

So far I’ve heard Thurston say Benny Barba has been training the house down. Also read that Bryce Cartwright and Ash Taylor have been training the house down.

Obviously GI has not been training the house down.

Special mention to our first “training the house down” immortal Dave Taylor

As above Owen Craigie was often on a vegan diet, and setting 2 alarm clocks to make sure he was ready for his morning 5km run.

Funny story related by Mark Geyer regarding Craigie yesterday. When Craigie was at Souths, Paul Langmack was the coach. He organised for a nutritionist to arrange Craigie's meals, he had them made so he could eat them at training. Which Craigie did.

However Craigie kept gaining weight. Eventually Langmack decided to follow Craigie after he left training. He saw him go into a KFC and come out with a 24 piece bucket. Langmack confronted him straight away. Craigie said it was his "treat day" and it was the only time he did it. Langmack dragged Craigie back into the store and asked the staff if they'd seen him before. They told Langmack that it was every day for at least the past few months.

How Langmack (assistant coach at Tigs) and star player Craigie didnt lead Souths or Tigers to the promised land remains a mystery to this day.
