Although i think Hayne and INU will do a great job in the centres, i still think their ability to leap for the high ball will be wasted in the centres. We know they can both leap, and they have both scored many tries from bombes whilst playing on the wing. Eric Grothe has a great high advantage over most wingers but half the time he is more worried about tackling the player instead of contesting the high ball. Joel Reddy is a safe winger but doesnt have the individual brilliance like Hayne or INU.
In my opinion Hayne should stay outside INU and keep Benny and Grothe on the other wing.
I like to respectfull disagree with the last statement! If we're looking at our best defenders in the backline, it's Hayne 1, daylight second. There's no doubt he's our best option as a DEFENSIVE centre, not to mention the tantalising lines that he runs in attack and his high 'game IQ'. By mid season we'll be saying 'best centre in the comp?' and we won't be far off!
Agree about their aireal skills tho.. but we probably
need at least Hayne in the centres!
I'm not convinced Reddy is 'safe' - he's 'safer' at fullback, but he seems so slow off the mark these days, and so awkward in defense all the time... Always a chance of being caught out of position, makes bad reads, and is very slow when the ball is slotted in behind him, or over him.
And caylo - I reckon that Reddy is probably there because we haven't got a better option at this stage!
You fellas who are suggesting that Reddy's form was 'good' last year have pretty damn low standards I'm afraid...
