I'll agree with that, Parra have been far too lucky the last few weeks, i expect that luck to diminish this week hence Roosters win and win easily.

I'm not confident....we seem to underestimate weakened teams, and the Roosters still have very good halves (on form anyway). We could get rolled very badly here....or we could click finally. Not confident though

Jack Gibson got buried in a Roosters tracksuit today and the boys formed a guard of honor.
Hopefully they'll show a bit of pride in the jersey this week and put it to Parra. With a depleted pack, we're going to need something special.

close game- shold be very good viewing.
sydney on paper have slighy better playter reputations, but that counts for nothing on the day.
Willie is gone, they lose something there no doubt, but anasta, pierce are still there, if they were in SOO then eels definately.
Since its at paramatter stadium another advantage for them, if at roosters home, definately them, but this one is tough to call.

So i'm going to bite the bullet and say eels by less than 6.

parra in a spanking...roosters side is lacking big time, they won't be able to compete with the parra forwards

Some little facts...

Plenty of history here, 117 matches between these Jack Gibson-coached clubs. It's pretty close, the Roosters just ahead 58 wins to 54, 5 draws in there as well.
At Parramatta since 1986 there's been 17 games, Parramatta currently in favour 9 wins to 8.

The Roosters haven't beaten the Eels since 2005, last years matches both big victories to Parramatta.

The Eels biggest win was just 33-0 over the Roosters, back in 1982 at the SCG. Two 41 point victories (believe it or not) are the Roosters biggest margins over the Eels, 43-2 in 1973 at Cumberland, then 41-0 at the Sports Ground a year later.

Why isn't he playing?

Parramatta have just one player missing to State of Origin - winger Jarryd Hayne. They are sweating on the return of Krisnan Inu (ankle) in two weeks, and Josh Cordoba, who will be missing until Round 16 with a shoulder problem.
The Roosters are heavy hit by Origin duty, with Mason, Fitzgibbon and Tupou in Blue and Myles in Maroon. Their injury problems aren't as bad - Minichiello is due back next week following a back injury, while Shane Shackleton's arm will keep him sidelined til Round 20 and Shaun Foley's ankle problem is an indefinite one at this stage.

This game is hard to tip. Eels have yet to put in a convincing win... but the week they do, it will be a 20+ thumping. A weakened Roosters team is an ideal time to fire up. Although Anasta will probably have a massive game after missing Origin.

I'm going the Eels... but with no confidence at all.
