Mate I've been advocating it since halfway through last season

Im glad to see the back of him mate ... i feel for you Eels fans ... three more years of inadequacy :( Finch has a great ticker, i'll give him that, he just never gives up. The trouble is that he simply cant lead around a team by himself. He's simply not a halfback and never will be. He played well last year when the pressure was off, and he didnt have to lead the team around as Smith did it well.

Maybe also start a BBTS campaign.

The kid copped way to much crap and he lead us to he finals twice. Finch is halfback and plays like sh*t and almost gets the blue hlafback role????

Surely this is a clear case of Michael Hagan simply being a very average coach?

They have a good, good team - they should have won this game tonight. But I can't help but feel that Hagon is simply not that good a coach.

He underperformed in Newcastle (helps with a Joey in the side sure, but no Joey, no Knights!), was wasted in Origin and now, the underperformance of his big names at the Eels is plain to see.

Maybe they'll come good - but the cards just aint looking good.

parra in a spanking...roosters side is lacking big time, they won't be able to compete with the parra forwards

Thank you moffo!:D

Eels fans, I feel for you guys having Finch as your halfback. Even though he gives 100%, that 110% is average!

Chook.

I think the opposite is true. Last year he was quiet and finished the season with only a half dozen try assists (he normally gets around 20 for a season), whereas this year he has been much more prominent and already has around a dozen try assists, putting him close to the top of that category.

From what I have seen of Parramatta this year Finch has been far and away their most consistent and best player. My Eels mate tells me he has won the "game ball" in 7 of 12 matches this year.

They have problems, Parramatta; but I don't think it's personell problems. It's the mindset that's poor.

The Eels are one huge disappointment in 2008. That was horrible.

There's a long way to go. You can be horrible for three-quarters of the season and still make the semi finals.

The first thing I'd do if I was Hagan would be to put Jared Hayne to fullback and move Luke Burt to the wing. Smith looks to be gone, so Reddy can move to the centres.

I think this would give them a lot more penetration from the back.

The Eels seem to be in a bit of a transitional phase with a lot of new players such as Oake and the Keatings coming through. That will take time. To balance this out, they have fellows like Hindmarsh and Cayless who are probably not quite the forces they used to be.

It's a tricky time for a team when you have this combination of variables. Couple it with Inu's absence, the loss of Tahu and Tim Smith and the indifferent form of Grothe, and it amounts to a difficult season.

It stands to reason that we should question experts for predicting such a good season for Parra...

Great to see you've kept your impeccable tipping record up

It's becoming more and more clearer after each round as to why the Knights fans were so happy to see the back of Hagan.

Well im happy.
I was very impressed with our 2nd half last night as well our defence. I had a few questions on the compressed defence and it did worry me a bit but then someone pointed out today that it played to Finchs weakness. His long passing game.
I thought our defense was awesome especially our goal line defence.

Anasta and Pearce were awesome. I can't help but wonder what Hagan said to the Eels at halftime though. They looked at halftime that they would go on to win the game. Plus it's good to see Finch still playing for the Roosters in an Eels jersey. Very good try assist. ;-)

I'd have to agree with that, Parra look disorganised and clueless. I've got a few issues with their team, but there's plenty of talent for a good coach to harness, hagan just doesn't seem able to. I could never really understand why they got rid of Smith, sure he'd been there for a long time but it seems pretty obvious that he's a better coach than Hagan or any of the coaching options that were available at the time.

close game- shold be very good viewing.
sydney on paper have slighy better playter reputations, but that counts for nothing on the day.
Willie is gone, they lose something there no doubt, but anasta, pierce are still there, if they were in SOO then eels definately.
Since its at paramatter stadium another advantage for them, if at roosters home, definately them, but this one is tough to call.

So i'm going to bite the bullet and say eels by less than 6.

well got masacred on this prediction, roosters are on a roll, seems their losing slump has finished, should be a v dangerous team from now.

I wonder if eelsfan01 saw the game last night...

Do you wonder what im doing every night you freak?

I didnt see it, i was at work but i was listening on the radio....what do you what me to say? It was a piss poor preformance im pretty sure everyone could see that but i still think we will make the 8 and i still think we are better than the Dragons so while not being impressed im not turning emo just yet, long season ahead.
