How did we lose that? Souths are an ordinary football team and we're just woeful when it comes to holding a lead. Exciting game.

Can anyone tell me why Robinson signalled fifth tackle a second before halftime in extra time and then once the ball had been played away to Roberts he called it off? Roberts was entitled to take the shot IMO. He probably would've missed but it seemed like an odd call after his hand had already gone up...

Speaking of "Roberts" and "shot"... let me get my gun...

:sarcasm:

It was the right call - you have to play the ball before the siren sounds. We did a few stupid things tonight and that was one of the dumbest, we had no chance of getting another play the ball in yet they set up for it anyway. even the FS commentator could see there wasn't going to be time for it. dum de dumb dumb dumb.

The hand in the air meant, in my book, that it was play on. To let the play the ball take place and the ball to passed was criminal if he never intended play to continue... they felt right to feel robbed - although Roberts would probably have kicked it backwards :sarcasm:

It was a good game played by two very motivated and determined sides and only won in the second half of golden point in the middle of a winter moonsoon.

If anybody wasnt happy with the game, jeez, you wouldnt just boo Santa, you'd shoot him down.

When dogs played = we scored easily.
When we reverted to playing dropsies = geniuss score

Souths = spastics, and we lost to them

woe woe woe!!!!!

Or I could just as easily say;

When we were going through the motion = geniuss score
When Souths decided they wanted to win = They did

Dogs = spastics, and we beat them...

So it wasnt pretty all night....It had everything this game. The whole box and dice.

Breaks, pressure kicks, vital penalties, leaps, razzle dazzle, scrunching tackles, stars, trickyness, shocking weather, desperate defence, bombs, score changing, teams struggling, almost two periods of golden point with the winning score by a startling try ( with a few milimetres to spare) and not some empty feild goal, abysmal officialdom, almost a finals atmosphere.

It was one of the classic games of the year and a credit to both clubs, their fans and the NRL.

Those who attended, we are wet and cold, but hell, I think we got our moneys worth.

What part of the siren went before he played the ball don't you understand?

due to him being held down for an unusually long time.

Bah, now you are drawing a long bow!

He played the ball after the siren. Case closed. Next you will start whinging about the play before or the play before that. "If they didn't hold us down so long on tackle three two sets before the siren, we would have had three seconds more before the hooter" or something like that. The decision was the correct one and how long a bloke gets held down for in the tackle is subjective and depends on the Refs call. Wouldn't have made a difference in the end either way. Roberts would have just done something stupid and gifted us the ball. Both teams had an ordinary game, You guys were just more ordinary when it came to the crunch. Suck it up and move on to next week.

BTW you should have a much easier game against the Bronco's next week with two blokes from the Broncos recovering from injury and all :sarcasm: Enjoy!

Put me down as one who enjoyed the match, very entertaining

Most of the time, the best games involve a few big errors

I was listening to the MMM call, it was bloody sensational !!!!

Never heard of this Maroon chap, but he and Gould worked beautifully together

After Capewell dropped the ball for the Dogs try, Maroon unloaded on him  Gus said you have to feel sorry for the kid, and Maroon came back yelling "Maybe after a couple of schooners i will feel some sympathy, but right now, he is giving me the sh*ts big time "
