Even though i dont like the knights , i knew they would win , panthers form was not good over the last month.

They beat the eels which means nothing and drew with depleted broncos lost to the dragons when they had a 12 point lead.

So going on that form the knights were specials

At a penalty count of 10-3 (IIRC), there's absolutely no recourse for Penrith or anyone connected to them to blame the referee.

So I can't blame the referee for ruling a pass that blatantly wasn't foward, foward. Please. Regardless of whether we were playing sh*t or not those sort of decisons effect the outcome of games.

I agree, we can't blame the ref, we got most of the calls our way, we just didn't match the Knights intensity and our ruck defense was non-existant

you obviously haven't been watching to many penrith games then,

I should point out I do think the better and more deserving team won, that doesn't mean I have to stop criticising the refs though

The pass you're alluding to CP definitely wasn't forward, but it didn't determine the outcome of the game. When you win the penalty count 10-3 you can't whinge too much about the ref. After an 8-1 penalty count in your favour in the first half you could only manage 12-12. Its an all too familiar scenario with referees f**king up, its just nice to get a few go our way for a change ;-)

Hey I'm not denying for a moment we played sh*t and deserved to lose. I just make the observation that the particular call we're talking about was the final nail in a coffin that we built for ourselves and to stretch the analogy a bit far it shouldn't be the referees putting the nails in.

And it was 10-1 at one stage

He's a joke of a ref

The only joke was the amount of warnings he gave. Most calls that went against us we correct and we deserved them.

Am I wrong in assuming you used to be called gunning_4_panthers? If so it explains a lot regarding your posts.

Yep, this was a topic started by GFP on the 23rd of March in the Penrith forum titled 'Sorry guys'.

Hey Panthers fans,

I doubt that any of you know that I used to passionately support the Knights until 2003, when the Panthers won the Grand Final.

In the last few weeks I have realised what a stupid mistake it was jumping on the Panthers bandwagon in 2003.

Before yesterday's game against the Raiders I realised it was time to jump off the bandwagon.

I have now officially jumped off the bandwagon and started supporting the Knights again

I understand that I will cop a fair bit of abuse, but now I realise that I had done the wrong thing and now I will do the right thing.

Soon I will be requesting a name change so I am not affiliated with the Panthers anymore.

Anyway, sorry for jumping on the bandwagon, I did the wrong thing, and now it is time for me to jump off.

The penalty count was 10-4 in our favour. The only other game where the penalty count was 10-4 in our favour this year, was against the Eels when we first faced them. Now that was a game where the referee definitely cost us the game. The Knights game he might have cost us a chance at winning... but to be honest, we didn't deserve that chance at winning. We should've put 30+ on them with ease.

I had a terrible feeling we would lose, and in a sense it's good that we did. Matt Elliott tried "improving" our team... and failed miserably. He openly admitted it was all his fault... and here's hoping that his failure to get us into the top 8 gets him fired. A wooden spoon and missing the top 8 with our roster is f*cking criminal.

Oh also... why the f**k is Matt Elliott changing our training and game plan the week after we played what is arguably our best game of the season?

Tell the guys to do more of the same. Spread the ball to hard running Frank Pritchard, and put Michael Jennings onto the ball with room to move.

Allow me to clarify - I was not trying to blame the ref for our loss, we did that ourselves. I was just making an observation about the ref's performance, who overall had a bad game.
