Yet one of your tries came off the back of a BS penalty. As Inferno said you guys had more than enough chances from Hayne's whistle and you blew most of them.

How many weeks for Gallen?

What try was that?

Gallen wont get suspended, rubbish call to put him on report.

The one where Clinton took out Kimmorley while he was in mid-air. Stupid penalty.

Bad call, if they did play it on Locky knocked it on anyways.
While Hayne wasnt so bad tonight he still buggered up a call that gave the Broncos their first try.

Yeah fair enough. One could argue that if Hayne hadn't of blown the penalty before hand would Lockyer still catch it? But that'd be petty. Mind you it would've altered your set of six a bit thus altered the game.

In the end I think we can both agree Hayne had a poor game against both sides.

Also I may need to see another replay of the Gallen hit. I remember seeing it on replay at Suncorp and thinking it warranted atleast a week or two. It may of been a case of wearing the wrong set of glasses. ;-)

sharks got a couple of calls, that one where lockyer went up to make the tackle on kimmorely, you can't say he was playing at the ball, there was also a lost ball by the sharks but some how the referee ruled brisbane had stolen the ball.

Brisbane got away with a blantant forward pass early in the game, the first try brisbane scored was a knock on by Ennis... but you get those calls when playing at home, usually

conclusion - the bad calls went both ways

The standard of footy in the NRL has definitely dropped lately, even Brisbane were scrappy out wide tonight, though the wet track could be to blame

yeah ill agree with all that

not saying the ref was responsible for the result - and i thought the touchies suffered from stage fright

but hayne is poor at best

Also one thing I must ask is "How good is Cronulla's defence?". Geez they know how to make dominate tackles.

Yep they are definitely good at defence. As were the Roosters under Stuart's reign. We had a bit more attacking firepower back then though, but watch out for the Sharks next year. They've bought some very good attacking players. Next year they'll challenge truly imo.

Have they bought any decent 3/4's though? That's what they need IMO.
No and we lost our 9... while we pick up Barret and Toupu just to name a few.its our ability to find the backs imo Pomm is good enough.

2 weeks for gallen..

Gould said it was staggs fault cause he ran into gallens arm with his head. Yeah right. He didnt fall into it either, ran straight up, then pow! shoulder/arm to the head.

Thats how i saw it.....

Pretty average game TBH. The Sharks looked alright when they threw the ball wide, they should do it more during games because it will catch teams out.

Kimmorley's getting pretty good at diving after he barely gets touched.

 still bitter about that aye?

FTR I thought both penalties were warrented. In the air is not an excuse, it was still late. Not by much, but it was late.

As for the Gallen hit, there was nothing in it. Stagg was falling, and Gallen hit him with his bicep/shoulder. As it's Gallen he'll probably get a week though.

Didnt K. Hunt commit one of these tackles and get off cause the other bloke was falling?

I still cant see the bit where stagg is falling. Watched it again this morning too...

The hit to the head didnt look intentional but it was still a high shot. Gallen will go.

I just watched the replay and stand by my first impression. If that isn't at least a few weeks that'll do me.

As for a Hunt comparison, Anasta had slipped as Hunt went for the shoulder. Stagg wasn't falling, if anything he slightly ducked but even then it wasn't as if Gallen couldn't pull out of it because Stagg was in that position for quite awhile.

Inferno, you're asking far too much from players. So now they can't jump for charge downs because they run the risk of hitting a player who will then dive and milk a penalty?

Petero did something very similar to Martin Lang in 2002. He got 2 weeks.
I didnt think Petero deserved that back then and I dont think Gallen deserves 2 weeks for that tackle on Stagg
