Only heard a bit on the radio but sounds like we have been pretty poor. No surprise really, I doubt we would have won with all our players either. Good thing the sharks and storm lost as well.

tbh You'd be saying that if we were full strength. I don't know whether it's deliberate in order to reverse mock, much in the same way as Wittyfan, or you just don't rate the side. Either way my confidence has increased since reading your prediction of us getting done again. Keep it up.

I bolded what I think. Bubble burst yet? I don't know whether it is blind faith or you truly believe that players like Morwood, Afamasaga and Robson have 1st grade ability somewhere in their bodies but Manly were not going to win today with those nuffies coming in.

uh oh, but what about when the Roosters were missing 5 or 6 players and manly flogged them, same thing right?

Congratz to the Chooks, well deserved win

Was a strange day, everything seemed to fall perfectly for the Roosters all day (not a crack at the ref, more about the bounce of the ball in general play).

1 thing i must comment on, that had no effect on the result, but that last Roosters try

Robertson should have just let Mason stroll through for the try, not even attempted to tackle him, because the obstruction was that obvious and blatant. Would be great if the refs would actually grow some balls and make a call, without having to rely on the video to bail them out. He was raising his whistle to his mouth to blow it up, thought hang on, they might score here, so didn't blow it, Mason gets tackled, and nothing at all is done about the infringement

Geat win by the lads today.

Although Manly were without Lyon, Stewart, Watmough, Williamson and King the Roosters were without Myles, Sa, Aubusson and Minichiello.

So judging by how the replacements went i think this game showed that the Roosters have far greater depth. The likes of Cherrington, Frank-Paul, Shillo and Friend are all quality replacements.

But Manly are still the team to beat along with Melbourne. They were due for a loss today and i think all the injuries plus Melbourne's loss probably ttook some steam out of their desire to win today. Roosters on the other hand were desperate.

It would be a different ball game in a Prelim or GF. Still, it's nice to break the Manly hoodoo.

manly really missed glen stewart today, not only his defence but his footwork and ballwork at the line, i can handle having 5 or 6 players out, but having the gift and choc out is a massive blow, buuuuuuuut in saying that would of been awsome to win, no excuses from manly, roosters deserved to win, atleast we managed a few tries and besides, id rather loose a couple of games leading into the finals than going in on a 10+ game winning streak ;)

Agreed, those boys blow. It's just that most weeks I rock up and read that you reckon we'll cop a beat down, which I obviously don't have a problem with, I'm interested though to know if full strength you rate the side?

Moorwood is deadset the worst footballer I've ever seen play any grade above U10's. May as well have brought Jim Curtis back for a cameo.

Dessie obviously just wanted the radar repaired.

I thought we got rid of Moorwood and Curtis is too ugly for a tv game.
It was a good game, Roosters we're running riot down our right side.

Happy with the 2 points but not with the last 20 mins.
Not to sound arrogant but I think we won the game at the 20th minute. We just blew Manly off the park and they would not have been expecting to be 18-zip down shortly into the 1st half. As soon as the last 20 mins hit bang out goes the intensity. I don't care if we are up large as we were but if we want to make a dent in the finals we can't clock off like that.

agreed. i didnt think we played that well. the only thing that makes it a good win was the team we beat imo.

We did have 4 players out ourselves in Minichiello, Myles, Sa and James Aubusson.. Maybe not quite as critical as the players Manly had out but we were far from full strength.

im sorry but you cant count him, he hardly evers plays, all the good work the roosters have done this year to be comfortably in the top 4 has been primarily without him, sa and myles are massive losses, and aubusson as well

I was thinking the same thing. Things just didn't go right for Manly from the start but I'm glad we seized most of our opportunities, although there were still some major blunders. We still fail to put teams away however.

Was pretty shocked in the first 20 minutes when the Roosters put on 18 points, Roberts had a blinder down the right wing, didn't he make around 5 breaks or something? I thought the roosters got a bit of luck with the ball but they were easily the better team. I had the chance to speak with M.Roberston after the game and said nothing went right for them the whole game and said they will be alright next week. Hopefully Watmough and Stewart are back for the game next week which will be a real test.
