I believe so. With a decisions as obviously incorrect as the Patten no-touch resulting in the dropout, and the Rapira no-try which looks like it probably touched the line, it's got it's merits. Referees are right in front of incidents and while they're making a judgement call, it doesn't seem to be even remotely correct sometimes :?

Rapira's should have been a try, but as has been pointed out, these things tend to go both ways.

Great game though Dogs, massive shame the Drags and Dogs don't play again in the regular season imo.

Btw, that sig would be perfect Timmah if you could put one of those little chinese hats on him.

Timmah the ref said that the ball was touched off the boot ,not when Patten was shielding it over the dead ball line , i believe he made the right call as we someone stuck their foot out playing at it. I agree the Rapira try was a dead Set Try and i was happy enough with benefit of the doubt rule for Watts try.

I really do believe the benefit should go to the defending side though, unless its a certain try i dont believe it should be awarded They Should Change the rule, same as golden point ,each team gets 1 point after 80 and you play for the bonus point

Cowboys definitely were dudded by a couple of second half calls but they failed to capitalise twice when handed possession INCORRECTLY in the first half. First the line drop-out awarded when Patten missed the ball completely despite Maxwell have a clear and open view of the play, then across the other side when a Cowboys player knocked the ball forward out of Hazem's hands. We had little luck in the first half apart from the Rapira call but to our credit our defence held well.

A bit pissed off we softened to allow two tries and cost ourselves the competition lead... but the boys will be better for the win and now a 9/10 day rest leading in to the big game against Manly. Something tells me we won't be 34-12 winners this time...

yeah, that was a bad call.

THe line drop-out was a correct call.
It was touched by a dogs player before the try line, so you are right Patten didn't touch it. You can even here the ref explaining that to one of the dogs.

i'm pretty sure from the live action I saw a deflection soon after the kick timmah. No idea if he played at it or not, he was close to the kicker.

Yeah Patten didnt touch it, the ball took a deflection before that just as the ball was kicked.
