I can't see Souths coming back from this loss...it could be a long season.
I think you're being a bit harsh on them. Most teams struggle to back-up after a Monday night game and they weren't exactly flogged.

In the second half, they scored first and looked the better team as they created plenty of chances. They just dropped too much ball. Souths need Craig Wing on the field for 80 mins each week, he's too good a player to come off the bench. Sandow has heaps of potential and would benefit from being used from the bench, towards the back end of each half. Thereby taking advantage of some tired opposition players and upping the tempo of the game.

Manly on the other hand were very good in the first half, but seemed to run out of puff in the second. They look to be down on fitness and this has also contributed to their poor start to the year. As the weeks go on and their fitness improves, they should be able to perform at their previous high standard, for the whole game.

All in all though, a good win. It should give them confidence going up to Townsville next week.

I agree. I also have no doubt Manly played their best game this year. We also created chances and just failed to get the ball across the white stripe. There was Capewell juggling and losing it, Talanoa dropping it from the cross kicks, Champion being held up and Fa'alogo passing to no one.

There was also a couple of little calls that I feel went against us, Brett Stewert knocking on in goal, Bani leaping from the field of play and getting a 20metre tap, Stewert jumping no where near the ball and impeding our fullback- which I would be ok with IF we hadn't been penalised for the exact same thing later. Oh and if it helps Watmough though did get penalised for a "high" tackle that wasn't high lol.

But We had our chances and didnt take them. By no means do I think our season will all be down hill from here. We play the Sharks this week in a game if we dont win then I'd be worried- cause the Sharks are pathetic atm.
