Our chances were cruelled by an absolutely pathetic decision by Phil Cooley. If McCrone knocked that on, I'm not here. To compound his diabolical error, he then awards a try to Bryson Goodwin that is clearly a knock-on, and to Hazem El Masri despite Jarrod Croker clearly being pushed over by Jamal Idris.

I've had enough of this sh*t. The video referee cost the Raiders today.

A clear knock on by Goodwin?

That grounding couldnt be any more clearer

Fair enough having seen it again I'll concede that one. El Masri most certainly knocked on.. although under the new "separation" ruling, he was okay, but the play should have been called back anyway because Jarrod Croker, our closest player to the ball and quite likely to get there first, was pushed in the back by that big oaf Idris.

I've resolved not to mention the referees in this match at all, other than to congratulate them on a job well done.

Let's hope they make it easy for me.

mccrone didn't knock on once, but twice. The ball hit his arm and went forward before he batted it forward again, with the possibility that it went backward the second time like the commentators thought.

We didn't use the wind in the 1st half well enough and needed to be a lot more ahead than we were. Still had problems with our 5th play, McCone needs to take control more.

out played on the park, out sung in the stands... not a good day for the raiders... we're poo
Not surprised by skeepe - I am surprised by raider... well played in the stands Raiders boys - we bought our singing voices to Canberra today, so stoked with the road trip.

I don't think any team could've stopped that halftime try to Goodwin, everything clicked.

Skeepe... it's time you stopped blaming the refs for your teams failings. There was still plenty of tick left in the clock when Cooley ruled knock on against McCrone (which refs invariably do in that situation, whether it was correct or not). The result came down to our tough defence and a lack of ticker from the Raiders when it mattered.

I don't understand how 1. the Hazem ruling affected the result or 2. it wasn't a try under the new separation rule (one you should read up on I think, it changed this year).

At the end of the day a very entertaining game of footy and if your mob can keep the intensity you showed in the first 25 minutes over a full eighty, you'll start winning games. As for the 'Dogs... it just keeps getting better and I can't wait for next Sunday. We should FILL the bottom deck of ANZ.

They are having a good draw so far, they havent faced over strong competition, the only team they faced were goldcoast and lost, i am tipping the dogs will lose in round 10 facing one their toughest opponent this year :)

...

no excuses for us tim tam. By the raiders army's lofty standard we were garbage yesterday. Dogs fans were not great by any means but good given the conditions. Which were dire in the first 40. Well in.
As for the game itself. Awful. Our performance was very solid but to win games in this comp you need to better then solid.

If i can weigh into the ref debate. They were bad. Barely enforce a 10m on either try line. I'd like to see it again but thought there was a big forward pass for one of dogs first half tries(didn't have the best angle on it so could have been fine) and i thought the ref piggybacked us up the field with soft penalties in the first 25. So what im saying is the ref was average but didn't influence the game. Our inability to contain Ennis was the reason we lost.

Very frustrating start to the season. We are competing but seems we're just not good enough to get over sides. Im going to forget about the raiders for a few days and drown myself in nfl news. Hopefully we get a win against the panthers. But im not confident.
