Interesting to see Romelo and Daniela on the extended bench. They've beaten out a few players that i would have thought were ahead of them for a spot.

It's easy to see why Romelo is on the bench. If Lachlan Coote is injured, then Jarrod Sammut will start at fullback, opening up a utility position on the bench. I wonder whether Masada was overlooked for his terrible game against the Broncos or if the Panthers are waiting for an outcome with his court case?

It's a little harder to figure out why Geoff Daniela is on the bench. My guess would be that Matt Elliott is considering moving Gavin Cooper out of the centres (probably to the bench, or moving into the backrow if Lewis is out for his back problems), and looking at shifting Shane Elford to centre and Geoff Daniela on the wing. If that isn't the case, then one of our backs (other then Coote) must be in doubt for the game.

Would have much rathered having Junior Tia Kilifi on standby for our backs, and Joseph Paulo for the utility role.

As for who will win.... on form Panthers would have to be the favourites here, but we haven't beaten the Raiders once since Matt Elliott took over as coach. We're a very different side then the past couple of years... but i still think that the Raiders are our Kryptonite.

I reckon Panthers could be a good chance of getting the win here.

But whenever I tip the Panthers - they lose. It's amazing how often it's happened in the past. If I tip against them they win.

So - if there are any Panthers fans out there (or Raiders fans for that matter) if you want me to tip the other team - please send me cash.

TLL will be a masive loss for us , hope Campo is over his virus , we need him to fire.
If we dont fall alseep and play for more than 40min we could win this.

The Panthers with a proper halfback certainly look to be a much better side. Really will depend on which Panthers and Raiders side turn up. If Campo is 100% fit I would expect us to just sneak home. The loss of TLL is massive though as it takes out the go forward we got from him.

Penrith fullback Lachlan Coote has been cleared to play after damaging his back in Gold Coast-forward Matthew White's controversial tackle on Monday night, however he remains in doubt to back up against Canberra tomorrow. If he is ruled out, Jarrod Sammut is expected to play at fullback, with Joel Romelo grabbing the utility bench spot. Key Canberra stars Terry Campese and Alan Tongue have had the flu, however they will almost certainly play.

Raiders duo Terry Campese and Alan Tongue have battled the flu and trained for the first time yesterday. They’ll play. Panthers fullback Lachlan Coote (back) remains ‘‘50-50’’. If he’s out, Jarrod Sammut starts at No. 1 and Joe Romelo will remain on the bench.

Carney to centre, Graham to wing and Thurling returns on the bench. Very happy Thurling is back we badly needed that go forward with TLL out.

Fresh from the Panthers media manager:

Coote out replaced by Sammut
Gordon out replaced by Daniela
Smith to start, Pritchard to bench
Romelo on to the bench (first grade debut)

The funny thing for me is that I have Gordon and Coote in my run on fantasy team, and have Graham and Daniela as subsititutes - but it's in lock out, so I can't change it... GRRR!!!

No player profile on Romelo on the Panthers website. However im almost certain he is NT born. Not sure how many players have played First Grade for Penrith from there!
