I think DA has got us playing the sort of game which convieniently takes the preasure of our 6 and 7 and basicaly makes their role less reliant than it would with any other team, our forwards are playing before the line, our 9 and 14 are touching the ball more frequently and our 1 is playing a second five eights role...

i can't wait to see what KK and feleti can do with this team because I think they'll kill it, with our current style.

Yep, I think you're right there. DA seems to have found the right structure for the two inexperienced halves. Basically everyone offloading certainly means we rely on their playmaking less than you would normally expect from a 6 & 7. Hopefully it is enough to get us the trophy!

yeah i'd agree with that too .... we are scoring points, yet hardly any from kicks - when kicking is such a big part of games these days - so it shows we have some ability to score tries from passing (and giving it to jarryd )

I'm fairly happy with our attacking ability across the park these days, looks less pedestrian than earlier in the year/previous years.

That said, I'm happy enough with:
1. Hayne
6. Mortimer
7. K Keating (Robson as back up)
9. M Keating/& presumably 14. A Mitchell
13. Mateo

We're a bit screwed if 9 or 14 cop an injury... M Keating can go 80 mins if needed, not sure about Mitchell until he tastes proper grade.

just getting off my customery fence for a moment, I really believe we've got a couple of very special kids in Morts and KK and it wouldn't surprise me if both of them play their best football when they're playing along side each other..

I still question our long kicking game, especially under preassure. I dont know if KK or Morts can give us good clearing kicks, if not, Matt Keating suddenly becomes more important with his kicking from dummy half.

I dont think we will be playing this open style of football next year. Im expecting a structured style in the middle of the park with a fair bit of flamboyantcy for our backs.

I think KK and Morts have very good long kicking games plus MK and Hayne can chip in. KK and Mortz have much better long kicking games then their short kicking game (esp KK who short kicking game needs a fair bit of work) but they are young and will improve together IMO.

Perhaps Iv missed good examples of it, but I dont recall KK or Morts having good, long and smart kicking games. Tim Smith had a good long kicking game, just not under preassure.

I have faith in Matt Keatings kicks, I remember last year he put a few beauty 40/20's in. He was playing alot like Cameron Smith.

When KK was at halfback he was able to run to the line and put deep kicks away from the fullback and always looking for a 40/20 while Mortz long kicking game is not quiet as good it is still good enough to keep the defending team on the backfoot. MK does also have a very good kicking game from dumby half he just does not utilise it that much, his only problem is that he gets close to the sideline almost every occation and is a wisker away from putting it into touch on the full. Haye has a massive boot on him but has to work on his kicking game.

Tim Smith had the best long kicking game of any player I have seen in the blue and gold but he never looked for touch, always kicked over the fullbacks head and into he ingoal. He was actually rated as the best player to find the grass from long kicks in 2005 and 2007. IMO to compare these guys to timmy is unfair because they play different a different style.

This is Parra's natural style. It was the style in 2005 as well.

It's just that some boofhead said that the modern game is one out safety first

I hope we keep this style way into next year and beyond.

It is hard to defend against as anyone player can start a rollon. The defence just can't attack 1 playmaker and close down the shop. However, our defense has to be awesome to keep this play up.

We have naturally gifted broken play runners so this is the way to play.

Lastly, the defenders make so many extra tackles which aren't tackles that shut down the play and so tires the defense

What I don't understand is why the passes stick nowadays whereas earlier on we would drop it.

A little bit of confidence me thinks
