You guys were deserved winners last night no doubt about it, but your figures are somewhat distorted by the fact that by and large those supporters are new south welshman and queenslanders and kiwis who now reside in melbourne. Our great game has barely caused a ripple of interest amongst victorians and is debatable if it ever would. It's a tad ironic that the leagues best team is one which the average victorian would struggle to name 2 or 3 of it's players

Where are you getting this "information" from? The NSW media?

How do you know our crowds are full of new south welshmen? I haven't met any and I go every week!

And how do you know the average Victorian can't name storm players? Every victorian I know can. 700k people in Victoria watched the game FFS!

You guys have a lower attendance than the wooden-spoon Roosters. Hardly a position to bag off other clubs attendances is it?

Here are the official home attendances for 2009:

Melbourne: 12,000
Parramatta: 13,100

Hardly any difference. Especially since you guys would perhaps have a thousand fans from an away team at the game, making the number of home fans (we get maybe 30 away fans total) for both clubs exactly the same.

So that's the facts. Come on guys, accept you lost without starting to bag off the other teams fans, city etc etc.
if we are in the next 3 consecutive GFs, we'll come back and do a comparison then - ok

parra is no different to any other team - the fans turn out when there is success on the field .... melbourne are the most successful club on the field in go knows how long, you should be kicking arse in the crowd department .... if parra makes the next 3 GF's we'll be turning them away from 21K parra stadium

Met several Storm fans at the pub before the game and not one of them was from Victoria. All ex kiwis, Qlders and others.

I went to the storm V. bronco's prelim final and would rate it as one of the great sporting anti-climax's of my life. Fans scattered around a stadium too big for their supporter numbers, nil atmosphere and a muppet on a quad bike that needs shooting.

I left at HT and was utterly stunned to see many storm fans doing the same. I had to ask a couple of them and they replied 'we've got the game stitched up'. They were right, but geez, it was a prelim final, not a trial match.

I hate them with as much passion as I love St. George, a blight on the code.

That's certainly conclusive proof that our entire supporter base is from outwith Victoria.....

just thinking.....storm fans can argue as much as they want that they get x amount of ppl to their home games but the fact is they could only muster up 10 people to greet their premiership winning side at the airport even the warriors in 2002 had more when they lost and they were in he comp less than 10 years at that point PLUS had no real success till the year before that.

melbourne have won 3 premierships and been in the comp for 11 years u would think they would have a bigger reception for them

melbourne fans: fail
