700k - 400k of GI who wasn't playing.

So, still cheaters.. but slightly less so.

Which goes to show that GI isn't as key to the team as the other 3 members of their big name players. Should be the first one they drop, in the event they need to free up cap.

You do realise we were playing sh*t last year with those three and only turned it around and won the title once GI came back.

The point is dont make any judgments on tonights game.

Matt Duffie had a very impressive debut...good pace and great finishing skill.

He will be the basis for a new backline from here IMO...

Agree he's got pace but he should have buried that try in the first half, and with a bit more experience he could have scored a speccie in the second. He had a good game, but he has a way to go imo.

Also cap issues and thuggery aside, the Warriors looked for all money like a team praying for the Storm to show up and beat themselves. When that didn't happen their only plan b was to blame the situation. The "stop feeling sorry for them" comment to the ref displayed clearly their mindset going in. They looked like a team who were willing to lose because they could cower behind the situation as an excuse for their ineptitude. Sadly some of the posters in this thread are keen to display this attitude as well. It wouldn't matter if Melbourne had 700k worth of talent removed from their squad, they flogged the Warriors because they gave a sh*t, end of.

On another note one positive is that the Storm no longer give a sh*t about losing, and appear to have thrown caution to the wind. They were really pushing passes/offloads. Better than that grinding bullsh*t they used to serve up. We could see some pretty good footy if they keep it up.

Well done to the crowd too, although I'm not really surprised given the amount of publicity even in Melbourne. Storm v Raiders in Rd 21 might be another matter. Keep it up Storm fans.

Incidentally, sending out young blokes (or other players) not in the top 25 causes whatever is being paid to those young blokes to be added on to the wages for the top 25. A number of teams have been fined in the past for going over the meagre amount allowed to cover payments to these players (usually teams that have been forced to bring in players to cover injuries). So if Melbourne were to send out their Toyota Cup team, or even continue making wholesale changes each week, they'd be breaking the cap all over again.

Meh, I don't really think a second tier cap breach is cheating. Especially when it is born out of necessity. I really think that using more than the allotted 2nd tier space is the least of the Storms problem. Its only a small fine normally.

Doesn't matter - the f**kwits are still 700k over the cap, and would be even if they sent out their Toyota Cup team. It's not too difficult to understand really. 700k is 2 or 3 top players or 5 or 6 average players who simply should not be there. While ever the current squad is held together, they are still cheating.

Stick to the game...not cap discussion.

He is one of the better debutants that I have seen for Storm...has a lot of spark and will get better with time.

Willie Isa played well...he had some shockers last year when he played first grade early in the season and looks a lot more composed now.

Yeah Willie looked good, had a couple of defensive moment but apart from that looked 100 times better then last year or when i saw him gainst the Bulldogs earlier this year. Was particularly impressed with some of his catch and passes.

Meh, finishing is something very easy to correct, especailly that first try, which was just a composure issue. But the patience he showed on Isa' try and some decisions he made in defence were the things that Bellamy will be most happy with.

Yeah agree with this actually. Can't argue that the kid had a good game.
