I'd say the incredible lack of urgency from Bird might have had something to do with it. Made no attempt to tackle and never got passed a jog as the try unfolded.

The Titans without Prince is nothing compared to the Titans without Friend. He's far more influential.

Prince was 2 or 3 metres behind the defensive line, Proctor was his man, Bird turned to assist in the tackle and Prince just let him stroll on by.

Bird did nothing to assist anyone. When Proctor got the ball he was in line with Bird, stepped away and charged at Prince. Bird showed zero urgency.

Melbourne will be in the finals. Can't believe how good they are playing. What an outstanding coach they have in that they can put in a system that allows them to lose the players they have, to be replaced by a bunch of average players, and play like that. Good on them. They had a rough year last year but last year is last year.
