Well, that is officially Parra's season over I think. Not that anyone seriously thought they would win from here, but now they can only finish on 28, which is almost certainly not enough this year (some years 28 is enough, but only when a lot more teams are on 14/16 rather than 18/20 at this time of year).
Knights are still a mathematical chance, can only keep improving, don't look really likely but you never know. They probably can only afford to lose 1 from here, but if they do win 8 of 9 they'll certainly be in form at the right time (playing 8 games vs current top 8, if they make it from here it will be very scary and one of the best all time runs at the end of a season).
Bad luck Eels, not enough composure tonight when it counted, and some very fundamental errors still. It is a shame, but at least they can look on the end of the season as a time to experiment and form combinations for next year (Kelly/Sandow for example, which shows promise).
Scrap that- we could have 6 teams on 16 this weekend- if one of them can put in a 6 from 8 run, they could make 8th on 28, if the Tigers or another team drops. Plenty of equal competition for lower spots means the cut off is sometimes lower- I thought the competition was only from a few teams, but looking at the ladder there are lots of teams chasing. So my (for now, til I change my mind again) punt is that 30 is probably the cut off, but 28 could be. Means the Eels could still make it with 8 from 8, and Knights can afford to lose 2 of their matches... I wouldn't bet on it, but it is some chance
