So we didn't have a single fan sitting anywhere else other than the away supporter bay? Right.

And you still didn't answer how you have 21k members but only a crowd of 16k ....

I didn't say you didn't have fans elsewhere, but how many where sitting outside of the souths member bays, not many.

That 21k includes all supporters including interstate and non ticketed members.

Not all of the 21K are season ticket holders, I think about 15K are ticketed so the 16K crowd is spot on.

No way there was more than 1000 Knights fans. 15k of the Rabbitoh Army were out in force yesterday.

So Souths fans are the 'Pride of the League', Hey? Try getting 18,000 on a freezing Monday night after 5 consecutive losses and then you can call yourselves that.

Souths fans were never called "pride of the league". It was the football club that was given that tag.

Says more about the Knights fans that dont go to games, there has to be more than 1000 Knights fans that live outside of Newcastle.

After the season we have had its hardly surprising that our away support has dropped off significantly. It happens to pretty much all clubs who have a poor season. As a Souffs fan, Im sure you know all about it ;-)

We simply got monstered up the middle, plain and simple. Add in slow line speed and a lack of support runners and you get that kind of result.

Gotta say that Souffs really need to do something about their centres and wingers though. They were terrible in a winning side yesterday, no surprise that all our points and a couple of close calls came down their corridors. The better teams will make them pay if they keep producing that shit

Not really.

Despite being the poorest performing side in the last 20 years of rugby league, we've steadily increased our membership, to the point where it's the best in the competition.

You can alot of things about South Sydney supporters, but we're certainly not fair-weather fans.

lol Oh come on mate, seriously?

10k "supporters" marched to get your team back in yet your crowd average for seasons 2003, 2004 and 2006 (all wooden spoon seasons) were less than 10k. In your return season 2002 against the Knights in Rd 16, a home game for the Bunnies, there were less than 8K fans there of which a large chunk were in Red and Blue.

Must be nice living in your little fantasy land

I was responding to your little jibe about Souths (as usual).

Yes, we have been poor for a long time, but we still have managed to increase membership steadily throughout those years.

You are correct in saying that crowds do fall a bit when results are poor. That cannot be debated.

 Ok then. So when we see a steady increase in Souths crowds for the rest of the season, how are you going to explain that?

lol I said it happens to all clubs who have poor seasons. Souffs over the past 20 years have had more poor seasons than most. Stands to reason that Souffs fans would know quite well the feeling of having poor crowds during poor seasons.

I really dont see what you were trying to argue here mate, but thanks for the reply anyway

That there are some previously non-member fans jumping on the bandwagon?

The core of our fan base is extremely dedicated, but obviously, like any football club, there are going to be some 'semi-fans' who are only really on board when things are going well.

About our centres/wingers, Everingham was one of our best yesterday.

No club is going to lock out bandwagoners. They're not members and the extra tickets and merchandise sold to them is good for the club. But there has been substantial support for this poorly performing team in 2007-2011. Our crowds have been bigger than Easts every year in that period, including the year they were grand finalists.

So we have a substantial number of fans who were there for the lean times. Now that we're winning more there will be bandwagoners (especially next year if we do very well this year), but no team is going to turn away bandwagoners.
