The issue is defensive shape. We are an ok side on our day but vulnerable because of our lack of discipline in keeping the shape of the defensive line. Croker in particular rushes out but all the outside backs do it.

I just feel more comfortable with wighton and Ferguson defending in the centres.

Pretty scrappy game, manly looked tired and I think raiders tried a little too much.
Milford is going to be something special...WOW
Hope raiders can hold onto him, bit of a soft spot for the green machine, Souths Logan coach is a best mate of mine

We're not that far off being a side as good as Manly

a few dumb mental lapses, that's it. Manly deserved winners, defensively they were too good... Raiders arent quite a gun team, but we're not far off it.

Got lucky there. The Manly boys must love defending, they dont want to do anything the easy way. Why was Milford kept on the pine for so long? Players like Milford are what's needed against a solid, organised defence.

Someone obviously landed one on big Tilse, entertaining way for the game to end.

Makes no difference in the wash up but it was dumb (the Tilse thing) . I love the way manly defend I've mentioned it a few times but they just trust that each player will get the job done. Where the raiders seem to not have that trust.

Agreed, got great young players coming through.
Good times coming for the raiders I think

Tilse should have been sent... Well Done Manly. Against the odds and the refs.

Haha, the refs made many terrible calls in your favour in the lead in to most of your tries.

Don't get me wrong, manly defended well, but if you think you weren't helped at the other end of the field you're a fool.

What was the penalty count again?

He had a better game last week imo. He seems to fare well in defence for a little guy.

Refs were disgraceful, but agreed decisions went both ways.
Did the penalties finish 9 or 10 to 4? To the green machine.
Penalty count aside run of the play decisions were just wrong.....

Huge relief to get the win. I've said before, when the Raiders click they can beat anyone but when they don't, they look very scrappy. Tonight they made too many errors but still were in it until the 80th min. I t's good to see Campo back and the more he plays the better the Raiders will get.

As for Manly, well..... they are busted. Missing some key players and backing up from a tough Monday game, they did everything they could to stay with the Raiders to at least have a chance. They'll celebrate that win, long and hard.

Both teams have the bye next week and in Manly's case, in particular.... they could use the rest.

We're up shit creek unless we can get our attack organised and someone kicks some F*CKING GOALS.

There were two penalties for hand on the ruck that were clear as day milk jobs from Lee, dropped at least another one later in the game. Then again, they missed a sneaky hand in the ruck on Papalii. A slew of forward passes were missed as well.

Manly are desperate for Snake Stewart to come back, young Hiku is so fragile under the high ball.
Even a simple down town was spilled, when the fullback keeps dropping it you just keep defending your line like the last 3 weeks.
I hope Stewart is back after the bye

It was good to see the big guy get a bit angry... Watmong wouldnt be my first target if i was keen to hit the knuckles but Tilsey showed some balls not backing down. Laughing off a nice shiner gives him some cred too!

Ive got no issue with Tilse... i thought he played well tonight, i think most weeks he plays well. He's a common scape goat for the Raiders fans but he's the least of our concerns imo.

Vaughan looks good though, might not be long before he's starting i recon

As i posted elsewhere:

The kicker in all of this is despite Manly's immense defense, despite Croker's defensive errors, Campese's mental lapses, some of the dumb mistakes at key moments, McCrone's execution, and our multitude of poor 5th tackle options... Had Wighton just grounded the ball instead of trying to scoop it (and i promise this will be my last comment on this because the bloke is **** awesome and i have no intention of laying this at his feet, or hanging him out to dry for this error) we are kicking for goal to take it to Golden Point...

We're not far off. But we arent in Manly's class yet.
