That is absolutely f**king pathetic. He had the ball touching his hands as Nightingale grabbed him. As soon as Nightingale realised he was incapable of actually catching it, he released him. Apparently this means the try should be disallowed, when Hodges just stands there with his hands in the air crying at the ref.

Abysmal decision.
Exactly. It was clearly a try.

I was just even more amazed by the abysmal call that the knock on was overruled by "holding" Hodgo back.
Worst decision all season.

IDK.. Had Nightingale speartackled Hodges (as an example), why shouldn't that overrule a knock on? Ranking infringements kinda makes sense.

That said, Hodges was never stopping that try.

So from now on if you knock the ball on and the tackler hangs on for a couple of seconds, it's a penalty.

Or are we playing different rules.

He knocked it on first ffs!! WTF is going on out here???

Under the laws, a penalty can be giving for taking out someone who is trying to recover a ball that they have lost, the penalty overruling the knock on. That part of the decision is fine.

However, if a player is juggling the ball, they are considered to be in possession, therefore Hodges was available to be tackled under the laws of the game, which is what makes that decision completely and utterly wrong.

Bullshit call against the kiwis.

Only foul play should overrule the knock-on

LOL WTF KNOCK ON!!

Penalty? Shocking decision. Major infringement overrules it?!!

Utterly disgraceful.

If a player is taken out after they have knocked on, then a penalty is correct despite the knock on.

However, if a player is in the process of knocking it on, they're fair game.
