I honestly dont get the Hate for Anasta. He's a decent first grader, how knows how to come up with bigs plays when needed, and his experience steering the team around is underrated
analstar has the heart of a plucked coight pube.

3 semi decent games a decade doesn't qualify him for anything other than derision.

50m? go to specs savers man; or some simple maths classes...

Hows this for a simple maths class
The penalty was award approx 43 metres (that's where the pen was awarded off memory) from the try line and 15 metres from the middle of the field

Leg A is 43m
Leg B is 20m

Which makes Leg C, other wise known as the distance from where the ball was kicked, to the posts in the middle of the field - 47.42 metres

Except thats a direct path, kicker kick with a curve. Is it not fair to say the curve over a 47 metre kick would account for an extra 3 metres of distance travelled?

Simple maths indeed

oh dear.

pythagoras is here.

Am i wrong, Gregster?
Was it not a near 50 metre kick at goal?

f**king obscene decision made by people who simply do not understand the game. The tigers thougherly deserved their win. Absolutely courageous stuff from them. Blake Austin is a beast.

you're absolutely correct.

regardless of the distance, the fact that croker's kick comfortably reached & only just scraped outside the post indicates that he was more than capable of converting it.

furthermore, his strike rate is amongst the highest in the comp.

He doesnt kick them from there regularly.
Its a fair dinkum tough kick, his only error was not telling the captain he it was too far out, you need serious leg power to keep the ball on line from that far out. You watch any conversion and watch them tail off at the end of the kicks. The ball loses velocity and the line gets exaggerated

It was a shit decision. Put him in a spot where he was VERY long odds to win the game, and very good odds to hand it to the other team. Whether it was 50 metres, or 40. It was a decision which did not involve any logic. That's bad when your decision makers arent making logical decisions

I thought it was roughly the same spot as that 2010 semi final...except that one was left to right on TV...this one the other end of the field

Ill say it again though, because there is no point harping on the Croker kick

We didnt deserve to win and the Tigers did. Amazingly gutsy performance. You swap the injury tolls and the Tigers win by 100000. Character building stuff that. Good on them.

The 2010 one was much closer.

Hilarious if that's what Farah was actually moving forward for, to remind him of that kick. Well played.

The 2010 was a genuine choke, it was probably 10-15 metres closer to the sticks and 5-10 metres closer to centre field
this was a terrible decision, he struck it as well as can be expected. This isn't union, unless you've got a powerful kicking leg, you dont want to have to be kicking ball much futher than 30-35 metres.

Pat Richards for example probably doesnt have a problem in that range, but Croker doesnt have his power. It's a lack of understanding of your personnel that leads to decisions like that

Simple maths indeed

First part all correct except it wasn't quite 43m out and definitely not 15m from center, so no it wouldn't mean 47m.

As for the curve, very creative - thought we were discussing distance between point a and point b not distance of path travelled to get from point a to point b.

Based on your logic of path travelled, you should add ball trajectory not just right to left curve, in other words the ball going uppppp and then going downnnnn of said player's kicking stule. That would add another 86m, so actually it was a 120m+ kick.

Whatever, I have no idea about Crocks kicking ability, but that should have been pretty doable for most kickers.
