That + one side getting all the luck and all the calls.

Lol swings and roundabouts mate we have been on the end of enough games were we are reffed out if the contest to know it happens to everyone

For the record it's not like the refs have scored 36 points for us but whatever

The Warriors forwards pushed back and then held onto the Eels forwards after the ball was distributed. The pushed scrum also obstructed the Eels backs that were on that side of the scrum. Tomkins took advantage of the obstruction by running into space that about 8 players would have got there easily.

I'm guessing you've only been watching footy from the 90's onwards. There was nothing wrong with it.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

The 3 Warriors front rowers had hold of the 3 Eels front rowers. They were then pushed into the 3 Eels backrowers. The scrummage blocked the passage of the outside backs to cover. This was all fine except for that the moment the ball came out Tomkins ran into space that the Eels forwards were prevented from reaching. If Tomkins passes wide there is no obstruction. If the Warriors forwards let go the moment Tomkins picked up the ball there would be no obstruction because the Warriors players were not breaking the rules by scrummaging. Instead the Warriors forwards were still pushing almost until the moment Tomkins scored. Clearly an obstruction. If the scrum breaks and one prop keeps hold of another is that not an obstruction?

The rules aren't the same as they were in the 1985. This isn't Rugby Union. The obstruction rule is clearly outlined. Show me where there is an exception to the Obstruction rule in the rule book that refers to scrummaging.

Not at all the Warriors have been sensational and the Eels defense has been atrocious. But, alas, soft penalties, and unlucky deflections and a few incorrect calls have helped them somewhat. Nowhere near being responsible for the result though.

Has there been a 40-20 that hasn't lead to a penalty???

They need to change it to a scrum or play the ball.
