Mate there's no getting around the fact that Barba has been a shadow of his former self this season. Look at the Titans game where it seemed like he was almost scared to even attempt to catch a bomb.
For the record, I'd take Goodwin & Walker ahead of Copley & Reed. Hodges obviously the class of the bunch. I'd take Vidot ahead of Merritt at this stage in their careers.
We also have Auva'a who has definitely shown something in his first couple of games with ball in hand, and Alex Johnston will apparently debut in place of Merritt.
I hear what you are saying about Barba, yes he has not set the world on fire this year, not going to disagree there. The Titans game he had a shocker for sure, but name me a fullback that hasn't had a shocker at some point in their career. Every player has one of those games, and he could have let it get to him, he took ownership of it though, publicly, and last week against the knights he stepped up, sure it wasn't his best, but he attacked the kicks, ran hard, set up two tries, scored a try and defended well which included holding up willie Mason over the line. I'll admit not his best, but gezz that's pretty good. If I said to you Inglis will set two tries up, score one and be faultless in defense, under the high ball and hold a big forward up over the line this week, I bet you'd be happy with that?
Goodwin over Copley, not even close, Goodwin has had one good year and that is it, you can't say what you did about Barba and then keep a straight face with regards to Goodwin. Copley hasn't had a great career either to this point, but this year Copley has been the better player of the two. Their past says it's best to judge these two on this year.
Walker v Reed is a personal choice and won't disagree with you because they both offer different things. Walker is the better attacker though for sure, Reed has him for defense and experience.
I agree on Vidot obviously.
It's good to see a coach blooding plenty of young talent, always nice to see fresh talent.
