Still don't understand why the clubs don't chuck a live stream of the trials on their websites or the NRL website. It can't be that hard to do if CA can do it with the Sheffield Shield and GWS did it last year too. They already have the camera equipment they need for the video segments they do on their websites.

EDIT: This is what GWS did last year in their trials. They even managed to put in other segments during the breaks. NRL clubs need to be doing something similar

Interesting that the referees been listed as referee and assistant referee, trialing a dominant referee system or is this tweak permanent?

The Dragons streamed their 2012 trial match in Perth.
In 2013 their trial in Cairns v Nth Qld was streamed as well, by the Northern Pride who charged $5 for access. Would have been a nice little earner for the Pride

The 2012 stream worked for about 30 seconds and was some guy in the back of the stand with an iPhone.

Warriors squad named for Titans clash. Most of the Nines players named, but aside from a handful it's largely a NSW Cup trial with a sprinkle of U20's.

The midweek game versus Wigan won't feature any of these guys (unless they get minimal game time) or the Nines players. You could almost guess the line up for Wigan based on that.

Jordan Baldwinson,

FYI, there will be at least one televised trial this weekend:

NITV and ABC Newcastle support Festival of Indigenous RL

Tue, Feb 04, 2014 - 9:38 AM
NITV will broadcast Saturday's trial match between the Newcastle Knights and the First Nations Goannas LIVE from Hunter Stadium while ABC Radio will call the match.

The week-long Festival of Indigenous Rugby League recognises the role Indigenous Australians play in rugby league. It is being held in Newcastle this week in place of the traditional Rugby League All Stars match which is being rested in 2014 post the Rugby League World Cup.

The event will feature extensive community activities, as well as curtain-raiser games between the QLD and NSW Under 16 boys teams and QLD and NSW Indigenous Women’s teams prior to the trial match.

Coached by former NRL player Laurie Daley, the First Nations Goannas includes some of Australia’s most talented non-elite Indigenous players. The team also features four former NRL stars: David Peachey, Nathan Blacklock, Rod Jensen and Dennis Moran.

NITV’s live coverage of the Newcastle Knights v First Nations Goannas will feature commentary from Brad Cooke, Owen Craigie and Djuro Sen.

Newcastle Knights v First Nations Goannas is televised live from 6:30pm on NITV while 1233 ABC Newcastle is live from 7pm.

NITV will also show the annual Koori v Murri Interstate Challenge at 2pm Sunday 9 February.
