The Broncos have already won enough games to make the Top 8, and they have an 8 point buffer in the top 4, so need only another couple to wrap that up as well. It really has been a spectacularly successful season so far.

Bennett is a great motivator and he'll need to be to get this team up against a pretty fearsome forward pack clinging to 8th spot, in a game they don't need to win.

This is exactly what happened in 2003. Outright competition leaders after 16 rounds, then lost 10 from 11, including the ultimate indignity at the Riff, when an 18-2 lead was turned into a 28-18 (and the winners easing up) defeat in the 1 v 8 final.

2000 and anything we basically lose lots of games at some point around here.

Random stat I decided to look up, in the last 15 years we have won 5 games in round 18 (R17 when 18 is a bye).

Yep and you snapped out of that losing streak in round 24 against the Bulldogs winning 30-0 out of no where and effectively ended our season... We picked up two or three bad injuries and never recovered eventually losing the GF Qualifier to you after leading by a million at halftime!
