Manly in a close one. Give dce and walker a few rounds to gel at normal season pace. Trex to get dominated in a driving tackle by parcell

I think Manly will win comortably. Manly's forward pack should get on top especially with Klemmer out and they have the far superior backs.

Morris and Hoppa are both reportedly good to go

So he's gone from missing the first month of the season to being fully fit for round 1?
I can buy a week or two being shaved off an injury, but a full 4 weeks?
I call Des' typical pre-game bullshit on that one.
Either way, Manly by 8.

If des can get the best out of hoppa again he could cause havoc

Agreed.

He was a gun in 2011. Whether or not it was the mediocrity of Parramatta or 2 years out is just a bridge too far remains to be seen.

Everyone thought She-Rex would go on to great things under Des at the Dogs too......

Des?

The "miss the first month" was a rumour perpetuated by the perpetually wrong Massoud wasn't it?

The club never ever once said Morris was to miss the first month - probably for a good reason.

For what it's worth, Hasler actually deemed both of them likely R1 starters a fortnight ago.

Des is good for "typical pre-game bullshit" but I think you've read media speculation as official news.

Hasn't he spent 1.5 of his 3 seasons at the club so far in the casualty ward?

Des certainly is quite coy with the media and the NRL. Bulldogs is the safe option for me despite fortress Brookie. Manly are capable of they bring it all together.

I have NO idea if Massoud was the one who started the report or not. I know I read it from a number of different sources (none of which was Josh Massoud).

As to whether I have taken media speculation as official news - no I have not. I never once thought this was official word from the club. I fail to see what on Earth a journo gets from creating a story about Brett Morris being injured? Going to up the number of papers sold is it? Where there is smoke and all that....

Hasn't he spent 1.5 of his 3 seasons at the club so far in the casualty ward?

Lol. I don't give a shit if he has played every game for 3 years or 10 games in total. He has been a complete and utter failure and delivered ZERO on what was expected and hoped of him.

Think the dogs will struggle this year but also think manly will take a while to click. If Graham's out as well as Klemmer hard to see the dogs winning this one. Eagles by 14.

But when Des said a fortnight ago they'll both be fine for R1 - less than two days after the speculation had emerged - we should just ignore that despite it being the only thing said by anyone connected with the club?

And you don't believe chronic or persistent long-term injuries might have impacted his ability to deliver on the park?

Your hate for all things ex-Manly at Canterbury is gold.

Sorry Tim but you've got blue and white glasses on here.

No matter which way you look at it Hopoate was an abysmal failure at parra and hasn't played a decent game in 4 and a half years
