Not sure which side is weakened further

Both of the two best props out for each team, a starting half out. Roosters spine is unproven but so is Souths backline

Hard to pick

Impossible to pick given disruptions to both teams.

I'll be happy as long as we are competitive.

Who am I kidding, hope we smash em.

Roosters 30-0

Can't wait to get out there on Sunday. Go Easts!

I would say that the roosters are considerably weaker. Lots of Souths fans are saying Keary won't get his spot back from walker. The roosters halves have a played a combined what, 12 first grade games?

On paper I think they've only got us covered in the halves, but Friend at hooker is an advantage in our favour. Similarly our backline is mostly better, but Inglis is a big name in their favour. Our forward pack shits all over theirs from great heights even without Jared and Boyd.

Should be a close one. Roosters by 36.

Is Mitchell up against hunt? If so I can't remember the last time 2 centre's on debut when up against each other

We will see about that. Walker has supposedly had a great off season and looked really good against Dragons. Particularly when Sutton went off. But I think therein lies the problem. He seems to go into his shell a bit when he has a vocal halves partner. I thought Keary was the better of the two in the Titans trial, though Walker had some good touches. Overall he didn't seem to have the dynamic running and high involvement I've seen from him in lower grades

I think his performance in this game will determine Keary's fate at the club in the short term

And while the two halves in the Roosters pack are raw. Our five eighth and hooker rotation are just as raw

Will be an interesting clash that probably won't be a good measure of either team's full potential

It will be a lot closer than this fixture last season and I see us winning by a small margin. Can't wait to get out to a game again. f**k spending another weekend with the Mrs.

Losing Tom and George are massive blows for Souths.

The Roosters still have strong forwards in Moa, Napa, Evans, Guerra, Taukeaiho, Liu, Aubusson.

Lots of class in the Rorters team.

So I have to disagree Vic.

Should be a close one.

Lots of question marks in this game.

Like others have said, we dominate in some positions where Easts struggle, whereas they are stronger in places we are weak.

I really think the difference will be the experience of Reynolds, Inglis and Burgess.

The Roosters have an overall better backline but Inglis trumps everyone.

They have untested halves, again Reynolds is the best of the 4.

Their forward pack is strong but again, Burgess takes the cake.

Not saying that because we have the best in those positions that we'll definitely win, but if the rest of the team can match them, those 3 will be able to dominate.

Perfect opportunity for the raw Roosters team to cause an upset, though.

Us by 14, but not confidently.

Easts by 52, but not confidently.

That said, both teams have played crap sides in trial matches (St. Helens and Gold Coast) no guide here.
Both teams have had off field dramas although Easts have excelled in that dept thanks to Pearce)
Both teams have a myriad of players missing either to injuries, suspensions, or no longer available,

Honestly, NFI who'll win this one. For obvious reasons can never ever tip the filth.

Easts to win.

The Bunnies will probably get up for Sam Burgess's first game back. Don't think there will be much in this one.

Bunnies by 4

Hard to pass judgement on 2 of the halves as they are on debut.

On last year's form Reynolds is certainly not the better of the other 2 halves. You guys will require drastic improvement from both your regular halves if you want to consistently compete this year.
