Here is an experiment for the camp who are in the ball is forward if it ends up forward camp. Run as fast as you can with a ball and then throw it straight up behind you. The ball will end up travelling forward with momentum.

There would be 100 forward passes a game lol under storms interpretation. Regulation passes at pace travel forward all the time.
