Just like the whole Prince Charles, Liverpool thing that was going for 1981.

Prior to 2005, the 1986 comp was the closest ever
In 1986 the current record for most wins by a wooden spoon team (7 from Illawarra) was set
In 1986 Parramatta won 16 games from the 24 they played to claim the minor premiership

In 2005 whoever wins the wooden spoon will have the most wins (both Knights and Souths have currently won 8 games)
If Parramatta win both remaining games they would've won 16 games from 24 played and claim the minor premiership

It certainly all points in the right direction all these comparisons flying around. Let's hope we finish it off!

Yeah but no where near as funny as you.

Is Covell entering in the Commonwealth games? He could be the first person to win gold in every event.

and in 1986, was the last time we lost an ashes cricket series
2005 looks like we may lose them for the first time since

Speaking of comparisons, '82 was the last time before now they'd won the challenge cup.

Ok so it's not 86 and we've won 2 more premierships since then but if it's more proof we'll win this year, I'll take it. ;-)
