With the second test a pink baller which are historically done in 3 days this could be a record for quickest urn retention ever.

Archer is a shadow of the bowler who was regularly clocking 150km/h+ during the 2019 Ashes.

Once his bowling speed drops down to the mid 130s, he's ineffective.

Play an extra 30 minutes. Let's finish this tonight so we can play golf tomorrow.
IIRC, I think that is the rule that play can continue for an additional 30 minutes (or 8 overs, whichever comes second) beyond scheduled end of day's play if the umpires believe a result can be achieved.

If England lose here (which is looking more likely with every boundary or six Trav hits), I CANNOT see them bouncing back. Only bad weather gets in the way of a 5-0 whitewash for Australia, like it did in Sydney during the 2021/22 Ashes.

This loss is going to really burn the hearts of the entire team and coaching staff very badly. Playing their best fast bowlers and with no Cummins/Hazlewood for Australia (as well as injuries during the match for Khawaja and Lyon), this was THE test that England HAD to win in order to have any chance of winning the Ashes down under.

England team knows very well they started today in a winning position, and could've rubbed salt into the wounds and completely bat Australia out of the contest just like India did on days 2/3 last year in Perth ....but flopped in their 2nd innings more than Nathan Hindmarsh.
