1st Test - India vs Sri Lanka

First test starts tomorrow in what could be the best Test series of the year.

Last year Sri Lanka won 2-1 at home, with Murali and Mendis doing all the damage. Going to be very hard for them to do it again against Sehwag,Gambhir,Dravid,Tendulkar,Laxman,Singh and Dhoni on their home turf.

Sri Lanka have their fair share of batting talent too, with Samaraweera the form test batsmen in 2009, alongside Dilshan, Sangakkara and Jayawardene. Throw in the extremely talented Angelo Mathews.

Should be a excellent series!

Rahul is the Indian version of Jacques Kallis

(doesnt inc bowling and fielding cause Jacques is on another planet in those disciplines)

Can't argue with that although Rahul's slip catching would have to be up there with Jacques'. Both class acts.

Jacques presence in the slips cordon means he covers a wide area, his reach is enormous

Anything under 350 would be a failure on this pitch IMO. This partnership between Dravid and Dhoni is vital.

I think the wall is close to surpassing Steve Waugh on the all-time runs list and is also closing in on 11,000 runs.

Well batted Dravid in a pressure situation. He also reached 11,000 runs in test cricket.

Indeed and other game saving century from the 'Wall'.

Nice fightback by the Indians. 385 in a day well done, the "Wall" was quick by his standards.

Can there bowlers back it up. Sri Lanka have a decent batting line up. P

India all out for 426. Not a bad effort from the Lankans this morning!

Due to how quickly the Indians scored their runs a result either way is likely (more likely an Indian win)

As you said Mr Angry, the Sri Lankan batting line up is one of the form line up's in the world and i wouldn't be surprised to see Sri Lanka get 500. Sangakkara, Jayawardene and Samaraweera are all capable of massive individual scores and partnerships.

Sri lanka are more than capable of hitting 500, India's bowling line up has been average of late.
