Let's have some changes.

Guptill needs to go. I'd probably like to see Brownlie. I'd be open to Waitling opening with Latham…or just throw Brownlie in there.

I'd like to see Astle get a run, but it looks as if Santner has taken the spot that he could've occupy.

How are Boult and Southee for this series?

Where is Anderson's injury at?

Brownlie
Latham
Williamson
Taylor
McCullum
Santner
Waitling
Astle
Bracewell
Southee
Boult

They're already talking up Guptill, so I imagine he's in :(

Disagree on Astle, I guess the interesting thing will be whether Anderson or Neesham are fit, and what that means. Santner had a good debut, I still think Neesham is the best option at #6 in a test, then the question is whether they keep Santner in and drop him to 8 leaving out Craig... will be interesting

I really hope they flush the dunny on Guptill, but tbh if that's for Rutherford then I am not sure there's a point

Same 11 to play.

Re Guptill, Rutherford & Brownlie are the only options. Seeing as though they haven't had any FC cricket in over a month, then Guptill stays.

NZ back in the winners circle here for mine..

You'd hope. At home, and I think we have shown ourselves to be better than Sri Lanka as of last year?and that team included Sangakarra (who scored a double hundred from memory)

NZ to win this comfortably. B-Mac to score a brutal century at some point against these blokes.

hang on, you played SL in a test series at home a year or so ago, and now again??

and you cut back the test series against australia from 3 to 2?

that will do me

You say this like we (cricket fans) are the ones making the decision...

yeah right

No different to when you talk about Australia champ

Me, talk about Australia? Never

Really disappointed that Guptill especially is still there - Brownlie should have gone to Australia - but to a degree they're right, Guptill has been playing test cricket, from the little I've cared the opener in the best form is probably Devcich, so it's a question of replacing Guptill with Rutherford (which just makes our fielding worse and no change to batting), Devcich or someone who's shown form in 20:20 (no point), or Brownlie on last seasons form (which should have ensured he went to England and Australia, he had a nearly Bradman-esque season

That would about do me. We can't be that bad that Devcich gets a mention in test opening stakes. Maybe he can open with Worker and we can have a Georgie Pie type field to give them hope. Bad opening ideas, Blair Hartland ever, David White v Waqar and Wasim, Ken Rutherford or Ron Hart on the 1984 West Indies tour, Peter Ingram, and this. I don't get to see NZ first class cricket, so a couple of names to ponder - Jeet Raval has a good record, and I wonder whether Michael Bracewell could be converted to an opening bat?

I just meant Devcich was the form bat in the country, because the only cricket has been the Georgie Pie BS...

Brownlie is the one that had a terrific domestic season - he would have done well in Australia, but they went with Guptill's world cup form (which was only one innings tbh) and Rutherford (f**k knows why).

There are some good players about, but Brownlie is the one that deserves the gig - if what he did last summer wasn't enough, you have to assume that Guptill and Rutherford have mortgages on the spots

The Kiwis will win this easily, Sri Lanka struggled at times at home to put the woeful Windies away.

B Mac will murder their pop gun attack and people will still call him a world class bat lol.

I feel sorry for you blokes. The Windies are being throttled by the equivalent of the West Pennant Hills High first XI at the moment. It's like having a summer where your side plays the South Queensland Crushers, over, and over, and over again

Might have something to do with Australia, India and England relentlessly circle jerking each other. The rest of us have to get a game somewhere.

We're well set though. We just had had a 3 Test series against a bunch of nuffies ;-)
