That was quick, but how far did he miss that ball by? Ordinary batting - scared of the pace again.

Has it really been this long since a genuinely quick bowler was around? And it's not like he's Jeff Thomson either but two highly respected teams have been intimidated by his pace.

Hmmm

Did I just hear Michael Clarke through the effects mic say that Ryan Harris has gone off the ground to see the physio?

I went to bed at change of innings but listened to ABC. The South African commentators were in awe of Mitch and really stuck it to Smith for his dismissal saying Mitch embarrassed him. Then got back up til tea to watch. Could have kissed Siddle when he got Amla.

I always thought that this series (which has a long way to go) would be a very good gauge of where Australian cricket is at right now. Obviously regaining the Ashes is a feat, but it was hard to tell whether the comprehensiveness of the series win was more to do with Australia being awesome, or England being abysmal, or both.

A big concern was how the top order would fare against a quality bowling unit. Are you guys happy with their performance this time round? 397 is a reasonable total (especially when your bowlers have SA on the ropes at stumps on day 2). 2 batsmen obviously performed exceptionally- 4 didn't. Haddin and the tail didn't underwrite the innings as much as they have in the Ashes series. How are you feeling about 397?
