Starts 1am AEST Thursday morning

Poms looking to play two spinners

They also tossing between Broad and Curran, who must have left the Sixers couple of days ago to join the poms in the WI.

England could face some tough selection decisions after a first look at the Kensington Oval surface suggested less help for seamers than was anticipated.

Despite much of the talk in recent weeks suggesting the pitches in this series would be full of pace and carry, England have turned up to find a mottled surface that appears to be both damp and crumbling. While West Indies officials claim it will quicken and improve as it dries and the match wears on, it currently appears likely to be a little on the slow side. As a consequence, the chances of selecting two spinners has probably increased substantially.

They will probably delay any final decision until the morning of the game, given that the warm, windy weather could dry the surface pretty quickly, but it does seem, at present, that England may have to select between Sam Curran and Stuart Broad for the final seam-bowling spot. Curran's superior batting - and, perhaps, his youth - may well give him an edge in selection, though Broad continues to impress in training.

Interesting that Broad is no longer a lock for his spot.

Windies have improved recently, should be an ok contest

There are two Currans. The one in the Caribbean is his brother.

Classic Windies. Looking good, then, bam - 5/90.

Hopefully they'll get up above 300 which is at least competitive on those crumbly decks they produce over there these days.

Having said that, has anyone seen any of it? How does the deck look? England are playing two spinners and the Windies are playing four quicks?

Just to answer my own question, I just read the Guardian's report - apparently it was slow and low early on day 1, but after tea the second new ball was flying through at head height to the keeper. England's two turners couldn't do much with the ball either.

Windies obviously knew the deck when they picked a spin-free attack,

a few 40s and 50s for the WIs, no one could go on

almost 300 first innings score, could be good

England rolled for 77 after the opening pair put on 20-odd, so they lost 10 for 50 or thereabouts... Windies 48 without loss in their 2nd dig approaching stumps... Blimey!

Windies now 5 for 88.... Lead by 300... Dowrich and Hetmyer going the tonk. Not sure what to make of that... The pitch should still be a decent deck to bat on tomorrow. I'd have thought trying to make sure they're there tomorrow would be the plan... But I guess if they play their shits and add a quick 40 or 50, that will be just as good... 3 days left to play, 400 hundred might not be enough, as time won't be an issue....

The Hunchback of Northamptonshire...how bloody ordinary is this guy?

I remember last year every time Tom Curran had the ball it was a case if "oh, you should see his brother...he's injured but he's fast, he's this, he's that! You just wait and see!".

Lol.
Pie chucker.

Who would want to be a fan of either team here?

Windies roll England for 77 but lost 5 for zip in both knocks.
