No one really deserving of a 3.

2 - Our fans for travelling all that way to see such a woeful effort.
1 - Napa, the only pig having a dig.

We are playing soft, slow football. The difference in the speed at which we play and that off the top sides is vast and we'll never compete with them if we continue to play this brand of football.

Forget about making the 8, it's now about getting it right for next year.

We used to have a mentally tough side. This lot dropped their bundle when the try of the year got disallowed last night. Our wingers can't catch and our halves looked clueless and the decision to kick for goal after four straight penalties helped confirm that. A soft effort all round.

On the bright (admittedly dim) side, Mitchell continues to show promise. His try looked like it was scored by a skinny Greg Inglis. Napa had a good go in a stingless pack and JWH's off load to set Mitchell up was first class. Cords looked like he tallied up some metres and Friend tackled his heart out.

Robbo has his work cut out before next Sundee.

3. Mitchell, just for the try
2. Napa
1. Cords

We're not going anywhere near the 8 this year and as Chook inferred, 2017 starts now.

3 points: Latrell Mitchell
2 points: Boyd Cordner
1 point: Dylan Napa.

It was mentioned at halftime that Robbo had told the boys their play the balls were too slow, Andy Raymond mentioned it in his half time report on Fox. Looks like he was the only other person listening.

The disallowed try though was the final turning point. Rightly or wrongly the boys wilted after that decision.

3- Cordner- The rest of the Backrowers look like they are running in quicksand compared to him. I know SST and Liu are coming back from injury.. also what the f**ks going on with Aiden..
2- Napa - Dug in but was exhausted at times
1. Latrell - could be onto something here. looking more and more like a GI clone

Credit to Gold Coast. Ran faster, tackled harder, had better line speed and showed more urgency.. all the things we used to be better at...

As a side note how f**king bad is Fergo defensively??? if he plays in the centres for NSW JT and GI will put 50 on us by themselves.. as Danish said in the match thread last night how is no one calling him out? we aren't talking about one game here its been this bad all year.

I am not quite as negative as the rest of you seem to be. I thought our defence for 60 minutes whilst being on the wrong end of a landslide possession count (albeit our own fault) was admirable. I'm not too concerned about the 3 late tries conceded as your defence will fail if your don't score points and therein lies our problem, our attack is flat and the backline looks like they have no clue.

Fergo has been a defensive liability all year but I am convinced he is injured as he looked like a passenger in attack on Monday. The halves didn't put on anything of quality close to the line but to be fair we typically dropped the ball before they could. I thought the forwards overall did well and will keep us in most games. Guerra is the biggest concern and is just getting picked on reputation now.

As for the 2 decisions against us, I think to be fair the obstruction one was at least consistent with other rulings this year. I don't like the rule but the right call was made there. IMO the try at half time to GC should have been disallowed. 1 camera suggested the ball was on the line, 1 didn't and the other 2 were inconclusive, that is the very definition of when a decision should stay with the on field call.

3 Cordner
2 Jake
1 Tupou (I thought he played his best 40 minutes in near on 2 years in the 2nd half)

Fergo looks great when he's partnered with Skidsy - with him injured what is already a piss weak back line just gets worse.

Whenever Maubs plays in the centres we play about 10km per hour slower as a team. It's like our fastest wides can then only run as fast as he can.

Once again - why did we let Jennings go?

In previous years we've dug in and defended and then hit teams on the counter attack with pace. Jennings, RTS etc just gained huge metres. We scored lots of long range tries and it masked some of the deficiencies we had in our team at times by winning us games. Our biggest deficiency for years has been constantly knocking on and turning over possession.

This year, unless our forwards can get a roll on we've got absolutely no hope because we have no pace from the back.
