To go from finals contenders to genuine premiership contenders,we only need 2 quality players being a half ie Matt Orford,Matthew Head,Brett Firman or Lance Hohaia and a big strong tackle busting second-rower with Frank Pritchard being the only logical target!!!

I disagree that we need a half.We have Prince who is only going to get better and other options include Marshall,Beuttner,Reynolds and Branighan.Certainly enough to work with.We also wouldnt be able to afford Orford,Firman or Head and probably Head as well.

On Pritchard,I couldnt agree more.He would be a top buy in my opinion.

Another Prop would be nice - Isn't Woolnough off contract?

i also wouldn't mind seeing these guys at the club:

Tony Grimaldi
Matthew Head
Joel Mongahan

We have some good halves, but to win a comp you need a great halfback who is a constant danger to the defence.I agree that Scotty Prince is doing a fair job,but i`m starting to agree with the vast majority of people on this forum that Prince`s a better 5/8 than half.If this did become a reality I believe at full strength we would have to play Benji in the centres, but he would obviously be the 5/8 if either starting halve was injured or out of form!Benji would also be the obvious fullback if Hodgo was injured.

We do not have a top quality half back. Simple. Thus we will not be winning any premierships in the near future.

Well we have only seen Prince play a small part at 5/8 this year so im not prepared to comment on where he is best suited but i honestly think he'll only get better at halfback. Also As for Marshall at fullback.Id think Simon Greally would be the next in line if Hodgo was to be injured. This kid oozes talent and i think could handle NRL next season.

TRUE,but there is plenty on the open market as I stated in the original post!Prince is playing ok in my opinion, but to win a comp you want a halfback who makes the alarm bells ring in the opposition defence everytime they touch the ball.Orford is a perfect example of this!

We need a kicking game.

prince is not a good 1st option kicker(short or long).

I doubt we'll get orford so i'd be going after firman.
I rate his kicking game up with the best.

On kerr i think he has alot of potential, but living up to
that is a different story. With benji out this is his best
chance to impress.

I'd also be looking at a good prop looking for the chance
in 1st grade that can't get a chance infront say
eg webke,petro=webb

A big strong fast winger like richards

Mate i've been saying that for a while Benji is a fullback.

Then u have hodgo who has been awesome so,what can u do?

Benji has way too good of a passing game to be wasted at fullback. Yes he has great footwork to be a fullback but when you consider how small he is he would get pushed back in the ingoal when trying to get out quite a bit too and with hodgo in the team 5/8 is where we need him. Scotty needs to work on his kicking game and he will be a good halfback but yeah there is plenty of work needed.

We need more big second rowers imo, if you get enough go forward it doesn;t matter how good your halfback is your going to win more games than you lose. Our problem is were not getting opposition teams on the backfoot. We need to get more of a role on in attack from the 40 - 50 metre line. I'm not criticizing current players but feel we need just 1 big monster there to smash us ahead through the opposition.

btw hows Benji under the high ball? has he been tested so far? not really. You don't weaken oine position to strengthen another Hodgson is our fullback for at least the next 2 years so why bother debating moving Benji there?

Have been told by one of the top people that we are looking for a big prop/2nd Row and a quality centre.Probably seems the right choices at this stage as the kids we have coming through are going to lift the club to great heights

And I've got stripes across my heart

i want wiki and monaghan, and an up and coming prop.

a pack next year of skando, farah, payten, boof, wiki and satts puts us up with the best.big pack with a huge workrate will make the tigers a team the opposition won't look forward to playing.

with a bench and depth of buckets, galea, heigo, fulton, gibbs, lima and co will see us keep heading in the right direction.

What would we do with another centre? We already have Elford,Halatau,Collis,Harrison and Wilson. The only centre i`d be interested in is Ashley Alberts who is Balmain Flegg star Jermaine Alberts older brother currently injured but contracted to the Broncos.Frank Pritchard has to be our no-1 target. Why would you want somebody like Wiki who is coming to the end of his career when a bloke like Pritchard is rapidly improving every week?

Matt Head has Re-signed, if we were looking at a halfback id be looking at brett firman, but i see the tigers being alright in the halves, Kerr and Prince seem a good combination
