Hey guys I thought i`d post a topic for this I am a huge Horse Racing punter and pundit!, I`ve already had bets on for the Caufield Guineas this weekend, The Cox Plate, the Caufield Cup and Melbourne cup that are all fast approaching. The fields in the Caufield Guineas for example are a Lottery I think, My money went on Face Value though in the end.

Here`s my testing tips for the other major Racing events for this up-coming Horse Racing exstravaganza that is the Spring Carnival.

Caufield Guineas: Face Value also watch for first emergency to step up and in if a horse fails to meet, the name is Happy Strike I always have money in these huge events on first emergencies i`ve been wining big lately on them!.

Cox Plate: Defier or Lohnro TAKE YOUR PICK, they`ll finish 1, 2. Defier will pip it.
Caufield Cup: I`ve gone all out trench warfare with my bookie this year and gone for a Caufield Melbourne cup double for You guessed it Mummify, I also had a little dabble on Carniegie Express...! watch out. and finally....
Melbourne Cup: Mummify, is hard under foot they`ll say for the day, this hard long distance will suit Mummify`s run from a "hopefully well drawn barrier".

There you have it, write back if you will, The more thoughts the merrier.

Carnegie Express has suspensory ligament damage. Unless it is a misdiagnosis as was the case with Clangalang, Carnegie Express is gone. Probably forever.

IMO, Lonhro is the quickest short sprinter I have ever seen but is highly overrated in anything but a sit and sprint. He has been very fortunate recently not to have anything set a cracking pace early on to wear him out. You only have to look to the Doncaster and last year's Cox Plate to see that Lonhro is not quite so brilliant when the pace is on.

I wouldn't write off the chances of horses like Natural Blitz and Clangalang just yet. Both are capable of beating Lonhro over 2000m if the conditions are right.

Yeah I also noticed you never talked about Defier....alot of ppl aren`t taking notice of it, I am i`m tipping it still. Well if Carnegie Express has suspensory ligament damage it wont be back again! no doubts on that, pitty I love that horse heh...

c.express is a dog. Big reputation but never failed to get the wobblies. Thank goodness i won't get the chance to back it again :D

Watch out for Mummify tomorrow. Never got a run last week, i thing it may give Lonhro a bit of run for its money

And Lago Delight might be a smokey

Good luck

dont rate natural blitz in this category of horses mate. Just a personal opinion of course, but i dont think it will stack up to them in the cox. Won't be getting my money anyway!

Moffo,
Carnegie Express is a top horse. A certainty beaten in 2002 AJC Derby. Cassidy should have been banned for life for stupidity.

Don't write off Natural Blitz. Very capable on his day.

I don't rate Mummify in that field/distance. Some stayers like Platinum Scissors (and Clangalang of course :) ) are capable sprinters which can run 33sec last 600m but Mummify is not in that category. If it becomes a sit and sprint I can't see Mummify even getting a place. Will probably win now ;-) . I might put a few bob on Platinum Scissors for a place.

JT,

I rate Defier as well. Any horse that can beat Lonhro as many times as it has gets my respect. All I am saying is don't get too confident about their chances in the Cox Plate. If it rains Defier has no hope and I wouldn't be surprised to see Shower of Roses destroying Lonhro's chances by making sure he is out of puff before entering the straight.

dice i`m going to Take YOUR well judged opinion, and i`m sorry but i`ll have to quickly dismiss your comments about Defier in the wet, early this year it won on a EXTREMELY HEAVY track and also ran a place too. Also moffo I think Mummify will run well today myself.

Champion run by Lonhro. Geez I'd love to own that thing. I really hope there is a cracking pace in the Cox Plate or Lonhro has got it in the bag.

JT, I hope you boxed your selections.

Is their anyone in the country that can beat Lonhro at weight for age at the moment?

I think he'll prove his doubters wrong the the Cox plate. The pace will be quick but he'll still be too good. IMO the only reason he didn't win the doncaster was beacuse the track was bias and favoured the front runners. No excuses for last years Cox Plate of course :(

Well done El! Mind halving it??

I got shitted on from great heights yesterday. Fields were 2 big and many of the more favoured horses got squished on the turn

But i was happy with Mummify's run, he didn't let Lonhro get away from him like almost every other horse has. Mummify WILL shit it in in the Caufield Cup if it runs up near the lead, guaranteed. Im stoked i got $13 on him 2 months ago

Only one can beat Lonhro....Clangalang. Clangalang has the pace to get him and MV is not a long straight and that will count against Lonhro. Ill be backing against Lonhro in the Cox Plate, but only on Clangalang

Some of the races were a farce. I had fields of omagh and it should've bloody won. Oh well, enough whinging

Defier?? Dice, i reckon its gorn mate, hasn't run a good race in ages. Hasn't won for a year has it?

Cheers,
Moffo

Yeah mate lmao, I had the trifecta on Lonhro, Mummify and Defier myself only won 80 bucks tho lmao. But still I backed it. COMON MUMMIFY. :p

Lonhro will annihilate the Cox Plate field it will systematically TORCH THEM lmao no really. It`ll destroy them down the last 400m. 5 LENGHTS easily...nothing will or can beat it. Trust me. But thats my opinion you all have yours and I appreciate that,....lets see what happends though ;)

Moffo, I reckon Defier is gone as well. A couple things working against Clangalang at the moment. Beadman's suspension will probably mean Corey Brown will have to ride Lonhro instead of Clangalang. Also, Clangalang has been trying to mount everything in sight since arriving in Melbourne. Hopefully, he's just excited about the new surroundings and will settle down.

Just don't let bloody Gauci on Lohnro. He couldn't ride his father for sh*t.

Clang is keen mate! Its a good thing surely. You think Brown would get off Clang for Lonhro? I hope not

How about Nat Blitz? Didn't really notice it but it finished well back apparently. Still a Cox chance? I personally doubt it

Lonhro around MV. That is the big question. For that alone there is no chance he'd be grabbing my money at the $1.65. Its way to short

Cheers,
Moffo
