The draw looks pretty good in my opinion.

We don't have any byes during origin period, which I suppose is understandable as we don't get as many players selected as we did in the past few years.

One of our BYES is during the City/Country weekend, which perhaps is better then anyway because we will definately have more players playing city/country than we will have playing S.O.O.

Prior to the S.O.O. games we play Dragons(Ryles, Bailey, Timmins, Barrett, Gasnier) could all be missing, Manly (??) and Warriors (Marsh).

After the S.O.O. games we play Tigers (which sucks because these are usually very physical games and will be hard for origin players to back up from, Broncos (YOU BEAUTY!) and Roosters (YOU BEAUTY!).

Rounds 25 and 26 we will play the two grandfinalists of this year. I'm sure many of us would prefer for us to play teams like Raiders/Sharks who arent the best but are far from shabby, but the experts do say that its always a big benefit playing 'semi-final like games' in the weeks leading up to the actual finals.

Thats my view on the draw, I like it.....nearly as much as the new jersey!

P.S. Dragons will be the first team out next season with the BYE in round 26. Souths fans are marching in the street celebrating already!

The knights don't get a home gaem till round 6.... and that is against the roosters.

Knights could be 0-5 to start the comp, Johns then gets injured v roosters, and they go through the season with out a win!

Well you can dream......

Brian Smith, you have been set a task! For mine, it's 2003 revisited - only the names have been changed to protect the guilty!

3 big games to start with, the first one away. finish off with 2 big ones, and a game at Melbourne lat in the year to catch us unawares. The Bye gods have been a tad kinder, although if Hindy and Killer get their just deserved rep jumpers, well....

To ne it's the NRL gods saying to Brian Smith - you got your homework wrong - do it again!

Why do the Bulldogs get the home game against Parra two years in a row?

What a crock of shit.

The first 4 weeks is a brutal way to start the season. I'd be happy with a 2-2 start. After that it looks a little easier and should be able to build some momentum

Big start to the season - four probable Friday night games. The biggest possible ratings winners for Channel 9.....

1. Bulldogs v Eels
2. Broncos v Eels
3. Eels v Knights
4. Raiders V Eels

Exactly, you can build a strong arguement as to why every game is going to be very difficult to win.

YES.....EVEN SOUTHS!

For example Vs Souths....."They have nothing to lose..." See! Simple!

People need to understand there are no easy games every one of them will be a challenge.

I totally agree Jake.

We don't need to over analyse the draw.

I can understand that we are all excited (as am I) as the new season approaches.

To be the best you have to beat all comers. Doesn't much matter when you play them.

Even if you take on the top teams in the rep season, they will have their best players out as well.

For me, it is just line them up one at a time, and take them head on.

De Ja Vu it seems

I feel where pretty unlucky with the draw yet again...and it won't surprise me if we start 0-4

However i feel our bye's are better placed then last year.

Why the hell are we playing canterbury away again!!...it looks alot better player a game at a beautifull all seat stadium then some shit hole baseball stadium over crowded with Wankers wearing there scum jerseys!!

i am sure the game will be at the olympic stadium, just like in 2003.

I think that overall the draw is pretty favourable considering the eveness of the teams. Our first 4 may be tough, but by round 9 when we get the bye we should be going in at at least 4-4, if not better.

Last season by round 9 we had played the roosters twice, the broncos, the bulldogs, and the warriors (away), the raiders, knights and the dragons in wollongong (where they have an outstanding record). So i think in comparison it is heaps better start.

the first few weeks look a bit tough but i supose we have to play them eventually any way so why not get it over and done with and see what our boys r made of.

Unless it's a night game the second match in Brisbane is going to be tough with heat and humidity taking it's toll. The heat in Brisbane gives the Broncos a true home field advantage in the first month or so of the comp.
